I'm not sure how much more I can take of this thread. I don't know what's funnier: The things Louise is saying (because they are that stupid), or the people taking "It" seriously.
In all honesty, and I know I'm gonna sound so snobbish so I apologize in advance, but I have very little tolerance for people who claim to be fans of Broadway/Broadway-related things, and then seriously know nothing. That is a pet peeve of mine...and I don't mean the younger fans who are new to liking Broadway; at least they're interested, and want to learn.
I'm talking about people (like Louise) who make moronic remarks...even if they are intended to merely piss everyone off.

Christine - That's not snobbish. That's just making sense.

From Internet Network: 198.30.217.x | posted: 5/26/2004 at 11:28:39 PM ET hey i just had to comment to all of this because it was too hysterically funny. sorry if some of this is a delayed reaction--i havent been reading too often lately.
1)the glinda comparison is very funny and ironic since Kristin Chenoweth has been called a young Bernadette Peters (although she'll never top the master imho:-)
2)i had these hysterical images of maureen standing off in the wings during bernadettes numbers in a bedraggled (sp?) costume mouthing the words and doing the motions like bernadette does for june in the beginning! LOL no offense to maureen moore though. and finally, the maureen moore duet would also bring new meaning to together wherever we go... perhaps the two ladies could revive side show??

From: New York, NY | posted: 5/27/2004 at 12:09:40 AM ET Yeah that link doesn't even work for me! Anywho, I hate when Kristen is referred to as a young Bernadette OR as a kewpie doll, because she is niether! She just keeps getting cast in shows Bernadette made famous, and I honestly think she looks the same age as Bernadette. But I don't wanna be rude, because Kristen is incredibly talented and makes a heck of a lot more money than I do for this stuff, so more power to her! Anyway, I am done with this thread too. It is way too random and long. Say Goodnight, Gracie!

Which shows? I just looked at Kristin's website (because I'm not as familiar with her career as others are, although I think she's wonderful, and have several of the cast recordings),and the only role that Bernadette previously played was Lily in the movie version of Annie. This is just me,but I don't think of that as a role Bernadette made famous, mainly because the stage production was such a phenomenon and well known way before the movie (which,I'm sorry,is a mess. What were they thinking?).
Am I missing something? I looked over the bio again. It's pretty extensive-is something left out? OCU productions don't count!
BTW-it looks like someone has removed posts or had posts removed.

As far as thread lengths go, we once played some trivia games that went on longer, but except for those, I think this is the longest.

| posted: 5/27/2004 at 2:42:01 PM ET Kristin was also in a production of Dames At Sea, though I don't know if she played the same part as Bernadette.
Other than that, and both playing Lilli in movie versions of Annie, Kristin has not been cast in any shows that Bernadette once did.

From: New York, NY | posted: 5/27/2004 at 11:10:27 PM ET Lilly was one... another would be Mabel in MACK & MABEL. Kristen did the workshop in L.A. and is rumored to have been sought after for the role in a possible revival (with Douglas Sills also from the LA show).
