I do think that Bernadette Peters (Maureen Moore's understudy ...wait..) would be fabulous as Glinda in WICKED. I think that she and Kristen do look the same age. Not to be rude to Kristen (who is twenty years younger) but I think they both meet in the middle. Bernadette would be HILARIOUS and her voice would be adorable singing POPULAR. However, I want Ms. Peters to take a break and enjoy her summer!! Maybe she could meet Jean in Belguim?

So, where is Louise?
Why hasn't he/she commented on Karen in Belgium eating out the wahzoo and drinking rhododendrens?

No meanness intended, but I laughed to the point of hysteria at the mere thought of Bernadette Peters' standby singing one of the songs during the show. It has got to be the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard regarding the theatre. For what purpose? Can you IMAGINE the way a NY audience would react to something like that? I mean, it might have been a heartfelt, sweet suggestion, but something like this would never, EVER happen on Broadway. I would imagine most people would be AGHAST. For the duration of that final performance, from start to finish, Bernadette Peters will be playing Rose...to have someone else fill in DURING the show, and interrupt the building of her performance to its crescendo, is unthinkable. Good grief!!!!!!!

I've been reading this thread for days now...does anybody else think that Louise is a lobotomy patient?

Louise - Really, tell us, are you for real? I think you bought the original movie soundtrack and not the current Broadway soundtrack. Natalie Wood was in the original 1962 movie that starred Rosalind Russell as Mama Rose.

May I make a suggestion? The more you respond, the more "IT" responds. Just fight the urge and stay quiet.

I guess it is the movie cd. I like Roz Russell. She was so good in MAME.

Who was I not supposed to respond to? Did I make a mistake in responding to Rob? If so, I am sorry and will not again.

Oh, come on, moljul. Wouldn't you like for all of us to agree to set a date to meet up with Louise for the opening night of Bernadette and Maureen in "Wicked," and send someone named Guido in our stead to beat the living crap out of him/her/it?

It's an interesting psychological question why a person would come to a site like this to annoy and screw around with people who have a common interest. I can't think what the point would be -- other than your life is just that miserable/lonely/sorry/pick-your-own-term. What did such people do before the Internet??
If that's how such get their jollys, a lobotomy might be in order.

I guess it was just getting very tiresome for me. But if others are still having fun well, I'm certainly not going to stand in your way.

Gotjah. It actually has been a diversion, chance to be silly, for me as I'm trying to get some work done that I'm not enjoying doing before heading out for the long weekend.
Yeah, I agree. Let's let it ride -- off into the sunset.
