Feel free to ask one for me 'cause I can't think of any. I'll try and come up with one later.

OK, I'll go ahead and ask a question for Karen if that's alright.

Bernadette was on a televised special in 1979 that was hosted by Sylvia Fyne (sp?) Kaye. She sang songs that represented two different shows. Name one of the two shows (Bonus points if you can name both shows and both songs).

Here's a hint:
Ethel Merman, Carol Burnett, and Sandy Dunkin were also part of the event.

Uggghhh... That's a hard one, Christine. I don't even think I can cross-reference that one with my tapes (and even if I wanted to, they're all packed up.) Grrr...

Any hints for those of us who wish to cheat??

I'll take a stab. How about:

"Barcelona" from Company and "The Best Things in Life Are Free" from Good News

After pondering, I was able to come up with a couple--not sure how good these are, but here goes. 1)What play by George Bernard Shaw did Bernadette express an interest in performing in the early 1980s? 2)What was the name of the single she released in 1976 and who wrote the lyrics?

PTM is totally correct with the answer to my question.

I'll have to think about the answer to Karen's question. Though I'm sure someone will answer before I do.

Re Bernadette's single, the only one I know is "Gee Whiz," Carla Thomas composer, but it was released in 1980, according to Billboard's Top 40. I believe it's on the Vargas album.

The single I'm thinking of wasn't included on any of her albums. Hint: it was featured on the soudtrack of a very obscure 1976 movie.

Thanks for the hint. I don't know the answer to your first question though I think I'm going to hit my head and go "duh!" when I do but the answer to the second question is, I believe, "Forever Young, Forever Free" and I think the composer was Lee Holdridge.

Moljul is correct! The music was composed by Lee Holdredge, but the lyrics were actually written by Rod McKuen(and whatever happened to him,by he way). The Shaw play she was interested in was "Saint Joan", this according to a 1982 People magazine article.

Well I guess I get to ask the next question. This is kind of a funny question but how tall is Bernadette's brother? LOL

Yes, I just thought it would be funny. I read a very old article on Bernadette when she was doing Dames at Sea. The reporter visited her at her parents house (which was still her house) and her brother still lived there too. They described her brother and I found his height "interesting". I won't give any more away in case someone knows.

I'm taking a completely random guess here..now if Bernadette is as tiny as she is..maybe her brother is too. Is he around 5'10"?

Well neither of those guesses is right but because this is such an obscure question, I'm not sure how many guesses I should wait for. Should I list the answer or see if someone else read the same article I did?
