Yes, I believe she sang Move On. I hope I'm remembering correctly.

She did and she sang the hell out of it! Wow!

Here's the review from the Boston Globe:

MUSIC REVIEW

Diva Peters revels in her signature style
By Richard Dyer, Globe Staff | April 5, 2005

Bernadette Peters must be a cast-iron kewpie, because she is still going strong at 57. Sunday afternoon at Symphony Hall, the Broadway diva looked half her age in a silver gown cut low above and high below (''I always dress like this in the afternoon," she confided), and most of the time she sounded great, too.

It was a big concert, much of it supported by a 29-piece ''Boston Musica Viva Orchestra" of first-rate local freelancers led by Peters's longtime music director, Marvin Laird, who sometimes took over the piano to accompany her in the more intimate songs.

In recent years Peters has often worked against type as Annie Oakley in ''Annie Get Your Gun" and Mama Rose in ''Gypsy," both parts created by Ethel Merman, who was a very different vocal and physical personality. Peters has a remarkable vocal technique that has carried her through those roles pretty much intact; she can still deliver the slightly naughty soprano innocence with which she made her name.

And she still sounds best doing it -- she was wonderful lying full-length across the piano and whispering ''Fever." She seemed to enjoy singing numbers assigned to others in shows she's been in (''Let Me Entertain You" from ''Gypsy" and ''No One Is Alone" from ''Into the Woods") and ones the female lead never gets to sing, like ''Some Enchanted Evening" and even ''There Is Nothing Like a Dame" from ''South Pacific." She was at her virtuoso best in ''You Could Drive a Person Crazy" from ''Company," taking on all three parts and throwing off a brief coloratura flight. Her voice sounded clear and free all the way up to G; she also ventured down as far as the D 2½ octaves below. Her timing of consonants was part of the fun.

When she was operating full-tilt in Broadway belt, you could hear the effort it cost her, and the actual sound wasn't all that appealing. In that mode, Peters doesn't have many options for color and dynamics; she could be just about anybody, and the stagy gestures come out. But when she pulls it into purr, she could only be the irreplaceable Bernadette Peters.

Thanks for posting that, Sarah! All of her songs are starting to run together, I'm still in awe of the entire show. But the reviewer is right..............her rendition of "You Can Drive a Person Crazy" was flawless. I remember that very clearly. :-) And as my emotions calm down, my memory is becoming clearer. Thanks for that review!

Agree with all who say "Fever" was a highpoint at Sunday's concert. But I have to say so was "I'm Flying." I am only a couple of years younger than BP, and maybe it helps to have been a kid in the fifties watching the occasional reappearance of Mary Martin in "Peter Pan" on tv to appreciate and "get" the choice. But the arrangement of the song was so unusual and so wondrously done, that it really should become a standard for BP. I hope she records that and "Fever." The concert was almost all highpoints, I think; "Time Heals Everything" and "Move On" and especially "Being Alive" (the last song of the concert proper before the encores of "Rose's Turn" and "Counting Your Blessings") were so powerful. One last point: BP remarked that she intended "I'm Flying" as a tribute to Mary Martin, who called her not long before she died to offer BP appreciation and encouragement. A passing of the baton from one theatrical great to another? And the song now a return salute? As you listen to BP perform, you hear her bringing many threads of musical history together in her song selection and interpretation; she sort of embodies (and what a body doing the embodying!) a great, living tradition.

Oooooh. I am lime-green with envy.
If I could just see and hear her sing "Fever," I'd survive. And hear her talk about Mary Martin as Peter Pan (I'm of that age too.)
Great postings, guys (sorta).
When, oh, when's she coming to D.C????

I don't know what just happened... I posted and then it only showed the quote...
What I said was that it isn't necessarily illegal. many artists make recordings available to fans. being my first time here and my first show as I stated... I wasn't sure. Also, a lot of artists allow fans to record shows to share, again, I wasnt sure, so I asked. I wasn't expecting such a vague and callous response, thanks anyway.

Okay, Chip, but as I stated in my last post, there are different views on that.
A lot of artists embrace things of this nature.

I am new here, so I asked.

It's not like I want it for anything other than personal use. She really got to me, more than I thought she would.

And I do like your signature line!

SingOutAnnie- I was wndering where you got your avatar pic from? That's a great photo!
