Right now she's not coming back, but she's left the door open for if/when she has the time and will to do it. She would like to, someday, if she can.
And yeah, it's Kristin. Her given name is "Kristi" so she just added the "n." If that makes it at all easy to remember. :-)

She shoulda, UCFGuardgirl.
HA HA. Puh-lease. I said much worse things to her (about being old) than that on her actual birthday. I think the key word here is "ridicule." But she has a good sense of humor.
But you know, when you're under 30 you never imagine you'll hit 30. I mean, when I was 15 I never thought I'd hit 20. It must be an immense shock when you actually DO hit 30. Not that I would know, personally....

And just you wait 'til you turn 30, kid!!
That is so cool that you two have become friends -- and enough to joke like that too. I remember so well your funny story of how you met her talking on the phone to your mother.
I'm impressed. And envious.

But if you use the search for the chat area and
type in Chenoweth and Macy's, it should come up.

From: New York City | posted: 10/2/2004 at 2:24:57 AM ET Yeah... it is weird. I admit its weird when it's put like that. Like when people say things like that, like... I'm envious. And I think, why the hell for? She's a person. Lots of people have lots of friends. And then I remember she like, sings and sh*t... Although I gotta tell you, I don't think I'd want to be friends with someone like Bernadette (like, I don't think I'd envy someone who was) because to me it's almost like... I don't know. I worship Bernadette. So it's totally weird. HA HA.
But yeah. I needed a reference from K, and when she sent it to me she was like, "I've known you a year now, you know." And that was a little weird. But I don't think it was weird necessarily because we're friends, but because I remember first moving to New York City, not knowing anyone or anything... life was very different a year ago. I mean, in many ways it was different. So her saying that made me flash back to the me of last year. I have to wonder how different I am. You ever think that? How much difference a year makes?
But she's a fun person. I mean, she's a very REGULAR person. But I don't know ANYONE else in the theater business--as in, I don't normally have any friends in that area. And I don't think I'd really want to, either. It's really hard to be friendly with people who essentially have the schedule of an irresponsible gypsy.
edited to say... I clicked on your link. And I realize I spelled the blonde's name wrong when I posted that last year. Talk about mildly retarded.

From: Bradenton/Sarasota, FLA | posted: 10/3/2004 at 3:28:50 PM ET I think I understand. I think Bernadette would be a great friend too, because she is famous but remains so much a person. Chenoweth is, by comparison at least, just starting out.
Still ... Bernadette ... well, she is a legend. It would be difficult to separate that out.
Years ago, I was at a play premiere in Florida. I saw several TV stars of the day, like Julie Newmar, Werner Klepperer. That was fun. Then Helen Hayes got out of her car, and that was a whole different country. I was in awe.

Yeah--I grew up with Bernadette. I think that's the difference. I didn't grow up with Kristin. So Bernadette was--for the longest time--more a concept than a person. Like, she was this theater legend I was so in awe of. Of course she's a person, but when you're 10 years old... they're really not people. You know?
Ahh, Helen Hayes, as in... the theater that's named after her? Wow. She's huge. I would die, too. I remember I met Julie Andrews last year, at a book signing (she writes children's books, and I was interning for a children's books publisher) and I swear to god I did NOT know what to do with myself. I thought I was going to cry. I became a total idiot. There's another one I could never be friends with, because I'd be too busy worshipping her wonderousness.

Registered: 5/3/2002 | posted: 10/3/2004 at 10:09:29 PM ET Hope I'm not being an obnoxious name-dropper, but I once met Helen Hayes. It was in the eighties, and the library where I worked at the time had just received the papers of Ben Hecht as a gift from his widow, Rose. Hecht had been writing partners and best friends with Hayes's late husband Charles MacArthur (they co-wrote The Front Page). In fact, Hecht won the first Oscar given for screenwriting, and that's the only Academy Award statuette I've ever held in my hands. Anyway, Helen Hayes came through on a personal tour with the library president and some of the archivists and curators, and I was able to be introduced. She was just as you would expect: tiny and ancient but extremely charming and vibrant and with perfect manners. It was a total thrill. Not too long afterwards, Katharine Hepburn called to answer some questions about the donated papers, and although I didn't talk to her, a co-worker did, and he mentioned what a shock it was to pick up the phone and hear "Hello, Kate Hepburn speaking," in that inimitable voice. Good memories.
