From: Massachusetts | posted: 9/13/2004 at 6:55:02 AM ET I am from the Boston area (45 minutes away) but I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel in the city so I couldn't tell you exactly which ones are the best. Symphony Hall is incredible though..>I've performed on that stage twice before and it is so amazing to be in a place where so many greats have performed (and now, Bernadette Peters is added to the list!)
As for the driving or flying from Ohio, driving in the city can be hell if you don't know your way around. The streets are confusing and MA drivers are crazy (it's no myth!) hehe. I would advise taking a plane or another means of transportation unless you know exactly how to get around! There is a T-stop right outside Symphony Hall so I'm sure you could catch a T from somewhere around the airport...maybe?
I need to get my hands on some tickets though...I don't know what to do cause I"m only 17 so I have to talk to my parents about it first but I don't want the tickets to sell out!!!!! HOw much were tickets, if you don't mind sharing?
THanks guys and hopefully I'll see you there! hehe

| posted: 9/13/2004 at 7:20:34 AM ET Tickets range from $42 to $87, plus tax. I just bought one in the fourth row for $92.50. So, all in all, not bad. Here's the thing, though. If you want to go to the event after the concert, you can buy any ticket, it doesn't matter which one. And then, around December, they will mail you an invitation to upgrade your ticket with a "VIP pass" to the after-event. Then, you will get prime seating and they will deduct the price of the ticket you already bought from the price of your new one. And, you can purchase more tickets at that time, also. So, if you're short on cash, just buy one ticket for now and then you can upgrade later if you want to go to the charity event. However, if you don't want to go to that, then buy your choice seat today, I guess. :-) If you go to celebrityseries.org, you can buy tickets there. Happy ticket buying!

At the moment, it seems you can get better seats by calling Celebrity Series rather than online. I just checked online and the seats they were showing were about 30 rows back. I called and got 10th row.

I got my tickets to the concert too, 5th row! I'm so excited, now we just have to wait like 7 months for the show, lol.
And Justin, I'd definitely fly if you have the choice! Even being a "Masshole" myself, I never drive in Boston. Good luck!
Hope to see some of you there, maybe we could arrange a meeting before the show.

From: Ohio | posted: 9/13/2004 at 11:24:25 AM ET Yes I'm definitely going to be flying. It's way too long of a drive and I can't even stand to drive in Manhattan, I can't imagine Boston. We should all work on getting together. Too bad we can form a fanadette meeting with Bernadette--just us fanadettes go to dinner with Bernadette or a drink. lol

From: Victoria, Australia | posted: 9/13/2004 at 2:31:16 PM ET I got really excited there for a minute. I'm from Australia and when I read that there was a concert scheduled for Melbourne my heart stopped for a few seconds- then I read it was Melbourne, Florida. Melbourne in Victoria is about a 3 hour drive from where I live and I was all ready to run down there and camp out in the streets until the performance! No such luck, however- I'm going to have to live vicariously through you guys! If you get a chance to meet Bernadette ask her to plan a concert in Australia for me!

Registered: 6/7/2003 | posted: 9/13/2004 at 2:48:02 PM ET Bernadette did 2 concerts at the Sydney Festival, Jan. 1998:
"In the eyes of an exceedingly loyal, generous constituency, Peters could do no wrong and her humour, generosity and, yes, sweetness, were repaid in three standing ovations.
Whatever the technical glitches, sound problems in the acoustic mine shaft of the Concert Hall and overwhelming strains from the band, Peters lived the line of a song she didn't sing "it's not where you start, it's where you finish". And the encore -a spare, poignant rendering of I Honestly Love You, dedicated to her late friend Peter Allen, with whom she once toured -was truly moving. Here, with fine support from her musical director Marvin Laird on piano, the artistry of the Broadway "baby" soared."
