| posted: 7/28/2004 at 3:22:50 PM ET I had seen some of them particularly from the first link. Though they have the last one marked wrong stating it is from the MTV Music Awards when it is actually from the 2002 Tony Awards. The Hofstra University pictures were interesting. At the time I tried to find some online but was not successful. Thanks for the links.
During the first Hofstra pictures which actually appears to be taken after the second listed Hofstra picture, I have to ask: How can someone's hair look that good after just being "hooded".

| posted: 7/28/2004 at 4:17:58 PM ET Actually Rose, in my opinion, Bernadette and Clint Eastwood had about as much chemistry as two phone books. I think a lot of it was the way it was written. There was just no chemistry there and then pow, you see them the next morning after apparently having sex. EDIT: The scene before the morning after scene is of Bernadette getting out of bed and crawling on to Clint's lap, much like a little girl would crawl onto her father's lap. It seemed like a good thing at the time because her character was very scared and probably needed some comforting and it showed that Clint's character was taking some pity on her and not just thinking of her a way to get the money he was owed. But there was no indication in the way the scene was filmed that they would have sex. There wasn't even a kiss. She put her head on his shoulder and the next thing you know, its morning, she's naked and he tells her they have to go. The way he wakes her up is not in the least bit romantic, he shakes her shoulder like he's waking his kid brother. The scene depicted in the pictures was actually started by her character and just seemed out of place.
Strangely I remember a gossip piece from the time that Clint was quite smitten with Bernadette in real life. That was never obvious in the film. So I'm really not sure how much fun she was having while filming the scene.

Hofstra remarks on this board
I don't know about the "fun" with Clint, but many actors have said that filming love scenes really isn't fun, as they are concerned with angles, lighting, articles of clothing staying on, or not, etc. And I so agree with moljul about the chemistry-or lack of-between Bernadette and Clint. Although an obvious observation, now that I think of it, Clint really doesn't seem to me to be a romantic leading man, but more the silent man of action.

| posted: 7/28/2004 at 4:28:06 PM ET Sorry to spoil the mood, Rose. LOL Pink Cadillac is an interesting movie and probably only for the true Bernadette fan and what did Karen or Jean call it, the "completists". There are some really good scenes, funny and touching that show Bernadette's range and then there are some scenes that just make me cringe in embarrassment for all involved.

Registered: 5/3/2002 | posted: 7/28/2004 at 7:19:21 PM ET Is it just me or does the baby in Pink Cadillac seem like a completely empty plot device--almost an after-thought. It reminds me of the baby they would throw in the umbrella stand in "As the Stomach Turns" on Carol Burnett. Nobody seems too concerned about it most of the time, but then every once in a while it's like they suddenly remember it's time to act upset for a few minutes. Of course all the characterizations in the script are very amorphous and inconsistent. Bernadette sometimes seems to be playing a different character altogether in different scenes (the script's fault--not hers). And the sex scene was obviously just dropped in to demonstrate the heterosexuality of Clint's character--he looked bored out of his mind. It sounds like I hate it, but actually I don't. It falls squarely into that "guilty pleasure" category for me.
