Hi, would anyone mind telling me
if Bernadette has a large role in
the Michael Douglas movie, It Runs
In The Family? Or is it just a tiny
part?
Also, does Bernadette sing in
Pennies from Heaven?
I can't wait to see those films!
Thanks!

I've never seen It Runs In The Family so I can't help you there! Sorry!

As far as Pennies From Heaven goes, Bernadette does not actually sing in it (none of the actors do) but rather they lip-synch to other voices....it's really cute and I love that movie! Even though Bernadette doesn't sing in it, she gives a wonderful performance

Bernadette does dance in Pennies which is a lot of fun. It's also just an amazing movie (very beautifully filmed) and really shows her acting ability a lot.

She has a decent size role in "Family". I wouldn't call it large or small.

Bernadettes role in "It Runs in the family" is pretty good, she has quite a few scenes. Not only the fact that Bernadette is in it, but it's also a really great movie, I highly reccomend seeing it!

just cuz the topics are different doesn't necessarily mean that it's a bad movie. Plus, Bernadette has some really great moments in it. She gives so much to the character, who isn't a big part, but it makes you feel like she has a really big storyline in it.

Where did Surfergal say it was a movie filled with characters with high morals. She said it was a good movie. The Godfather is one of the greatest movies of all time but I wouldn't want anyone to copy the mafia's morals.

Well said Karen!! Honestly I think this is a great movie! It speaks to today's generation. It shows how important it is to keep all lines of communication in a family open. The ideas of the 69, weed, and sex in the soup kitchen are all ideas that come into play with TODAY'S society.
I honestly think that this was a great film and it is sad that it didn't get higher ratings or higher sells. And it is definitely observable that this project was a major labor of love. In the DVD Diana Douglas and Michael Douglas all have great things to say about Bernadette.

"Take off your jacket!"--Joan Rivers to Bernadette
"TAKE OFF YOUR DRESS!!"--Bernadette's reply.

since when did our morals matter if we think a movie is good or not?
personally i loved the movie, it was very focused on family and how messed up things can be and being there for each other

So based on Anon's logic, if someone enjoyed "The Pianist," they must be a Nazi sympathizer.

Heck, from that, what's to stop us from saying anyone who would make a movie that has immoral behavior in it is immoral as well.

Like it or not, 69ing, having sex, and smoking weed are part of society. And as everyone else has said, It Runs in the Family focused on how a family can be messed up and still appreciate one another at the end of the day - and how important it is to try and maintain that.

To respond to the original question, both Pennies in Heaven and IRITK are good movies to watch. And not just for the Bernadette moments, I think.

Regarding "Pennies From Heaven"; while Bernadette does not actually sing her numbers in the film (none of the actors do), she gives incredible performances and the songs themselves are very Bernadette-esque. It is not much of a jump to imagine her recording those songs for one of her own albums or performing them in her concerts.
I think it's one of the best films ever. Period!
