Sorry, actually I have no idea because I don't know about that kind of stuff.
"Titian-red" maybe? I don't know, but it's a good question. Fashion mavens would know the answer.

It's hard to say what color her hair is dyed because it changes. If you look at the pictures from More magazine, it looks like her hair is a lighter red with some strawberry-blonde highlights. I would suggest that if you want to dye your hair to look like Bernadette, take a photo with you to your hair stylist. That way they can see what you want.

Registered: 5/3/2004 | posted: 7/18/2004 at 5:16:21 PM ET i'm a natural brunette... but i have blue eyes and i think that Rachel York looks amazing when she has red hair. and i think Bernadette obviously looks stunning with her red hair.
i was thinking to put in Strawberry-blonde highlights into my hair... but would that look weird on brown hair? or should i just die it all strawberry-blonde redish?

From: NYC | posted: 7/18/2004 at 5:26:44 PM ET I have naturally red hair... but it's more along the lines of a cross between Michele Pawk and Michelle DeJean type red.
Be careful about dying your hair lighter and then dying it back to a dark color... if not done properly it can destroy your hair.

But if you get it done professionally, by people who know what they're doing, it shouldn't be an issue. I'd say go for the red hair! I recently added a tint of red to may hair, (decided red isn't for me) but if I hadn't done it I'd always wonder what it would look like. So you may as well try it and see what happens!

my mom offered to do it for me, but i'd rather be definite about having it done well.

From: Texas | posted: 7/19/2004 at 12:58:16 AM ET i have ALWAYS wanted red hair! I've been thinking about putting red highlights in my hair too, BUT where I am, the show business wants a natural look and my hair has a little bit of natural blond and reed hylights which kinda make my hair look auburn.

From: Massachusetts | posted: 7/19/2004 at 1:01:26 AM ET My hair is actually naturally brown with red and gold highlights in it (sorta the color of Bernadette's)...I've never dyed it in my life but I am always being asked about it.
I say "Go for it" if you want to try something new...if you don't like it you can always go back! Just be careful about doing it too often, as the others said! hehe
