I'm out in the hinterlands. Can someone tell me what TRIO is?

Trio is a cable channel that I think is available nationally, but not all cable systems carry it (mine doesn't). I'm pretty sure this documentary is one that was made for Australian TV originally, but was regularly shown on Bravo a few years back. I made a copy of it at the time and it's pretty interesting.

Thank you, Karen.
Trio is one I'd not heard of, but that's not surprising. I only got Bravo two or three months ago (tho I did know of IT). The previous cable service came out of Tennessee and had umpty-nine country networks.

I was interested in what type of programming Trio carried, ownership, etc. Must be on this Internet-thingy somewhar...

Don't know who owns it, but I believe it carries programming that's mostly fine arts, theatre, etc.--something like Bravo.

Trio is fun. They show a lot of old David Letterman episodes, they show a lot of Broadway stuff (like shows that have been taped). They used to run "Fosse" a lot, but I haven't seen it on there lately.
They also have this show called, "Brilliant but cancelled", where they run tv shows that didn't last long on the major networks.
When all of the Broadway actors got together and did that "New York, New York" commercial, Trio showed the entire thing...unlike the regular networks.

It's an interesting channel.

I read about "Brilliant but cancelled" somewhere...

Trio sounds really good. Hmmm, Maybe it's on the premium cable offerings. Or, I'll look for it on my next trip to NYC.

Yeah I HATE Cablevision. They're trying to force everyone to get digital cable so they're not carrying anything good like Trio. I don't get it

Get digital. You get so many more channels for the same price. It's great!

Grrr. I checked last night when I got home. My cable system (which does offer digital now) doesn't list TRIO.
Ah, such is life...
