From: Boston | posted: 7/27/2003 at 2:52:40 PM ET Wow look at all the tracks! This is going to be the most complete recorind of Gypsy with the never before released Entracte, Madam Rose's Torredorables, Small World Reprise, Incididental Music, and Curtain bows. None of these have ever been recorded.
I'm counting the days until August 19th!

Registered: 3/10/2001 | posted: 7/27/2003 at 3:23:44 PM ET Yes, that's true-- this recording includes 4 tracks that have never been previously released on CD: Entr'acte, Madame Rose's Toreadorables, Small World (reprise) and Curtain.
I'm wondering if the Incidental Music track is really just a bridge from the Small World reprise into Gypsy Strip (Let Me Entertain You) and if its really a track on the CD at all OR...if an Angel Record's Rep added it as a track on the website by accident. Because most of the time incidental music is not labeled as a track because all it is is basically short musical segments that accompany, or highlight dramatic moments in a musical. Not that its any less important to the show than actual musical numbers. But I guess we'll see when the CD is released
The CD booklet will also include the (complete) lyrics from the show

As in, I really like the cover of the playbill and the poster: the Gypsy logo against a plain black background, with the red neon signature catch phrase, "Curtain up. Light the lights."
But this is nice, too. Not as eye-catching in my opinion, but nice.
Still very excited about this one. Look at all the tracks!!

Registered: 3/10/2001 | posted: 7/27/2003 at 4:06:10 PM ET Maybe its just me...but I've noticed that the art department or whomever has decided to move away from the original logo of the Gypsy design on a black background and moved to either having the same logo on a pink-purple background or having that with a photo of Bernadette. This is what's being shown in the newspaper ads more frequently and what's displayed in the ads outside the theatre( even though they still have the HUGE banners with the black background there). They even changed the awning from black (with the "Gypsy" logo") to purple.
I think the appearance of Bernadette on the CD's cover will definitely help distinguish this recording from all the other Gypsy recordings out there.

I can't wait for this CD to be released; I am doing silly little flips and cartwheels all over my office!
Stranger here myself...

One thing I'm not clear on--in the list of tracks it says "Curtain"--just what is that? I've seen the show, but am having trouble visualizing this piece of music.
I like having a picture (or likeness) of Bernadette on the CD. As has been discussed elsewhere, I'd also like a poster with her picture on it.

| posted: 7/28/2003 at 3:12:05 PM ET I read that a few weeks ago (about how they were probably going to use the Purple/Pink design for the cover), and at the time I liked the idea. But now that I look at it, I would prefer that design to be on the posters, and I would prefer the original Black design with the Gypsy title that has each letter as something else that they use for the poster and playbills now would be the CD cover.
Oh well, as long as I get the CD. lol
