I was just doing a search on Bear Share for Bernadette songs (actually, I was hoping for some mp3s of old live performances, like from the Sonny and Cher show, really obscure stuff like that) and I came across another obscure one. (And I don't even think I have this one on the video I've got of pretty much all of her old stuff.)

It's a song from Bernadette's appearance on the Muppet Show. The song is called 'Just One Person.' Anyone know of this one? Or (by chance) recall the actual appearance on the muppet show? Was she on it once or twice?

Or maybe you've come across other obscure Bernadette songs and/or references?

I actually have that appearance on video. It was cute. She was singing to Robin (Kermit's nephew) because he didn't think he was very important and she wanted him to feel better. LOL The tape I have is not the actual episode she was on; it's a collection of some of the Muppets greatest guest appearances and so they have Bernadette singing that song to Robin. If you want to see the entire show that she was on I suggest going the the Museum of Television and Radio.

I think she was on only once in 1977. She was actually nominated for an Emmy for that appearance although she doesn't seem to remember she was nominated. When I saw her in concert a couple years ago, she said the Ally McBeal nomination was her first.

Besides "Just One Person," she did two other numbers -- "Take a Little One-Step" from (I think) No,No Nannette and a song about "Apple Jack". The first she sang and danced with three of the oversized Muppet Monsters (I don't know if that's what they're really called, but they've got the people in them) and the other song was country-flavored with a Muppet jug band.

Of the musical guest variety spots that I have with her, the "Just One Person" number is still one of my favorites. That and her singing "Barcelona" in bed with Richard Chamberlain on the first Musical Comedy Tonight special and a Bock and Harnick musical tribute on one of the Carol Burnett shows from the mid-seventies.

Ohhhh, PTM, I wish I had all the Carol Burnett appearances on tape. They must have been hysterical. As it is, I only have the one (from the "new" Carol Burnett show that aired in the late 80s/early 90s.)

One I love, though (and this is the one I was looking for) is Bernadette singing 'Send in the Clowns' on the Sonny and Cher show. It was such a beautiful rendition. And what's funny is that I don't even necessarily *like* that song. But I liked it when she sang it.
