Oh I hope this is true - I would love to see Bernadette as Desiree! Although I would much prefer Angela to extend than to have Elaine as Mde Armfeldt...

I've been following this rumor on the chat boards and completely agree. I am not a fan of Stritch and would much prefer Bernadette opposite Angela. Though I'd be there in a minute either way. Guess we'll just have to wait and see

Looks like this is going to happen.

Thanks Moljul

What's your source? I don't want to get my hopes up if it doesn't work out BUT it's hard to not get excited. I've never seen Bernadette live before!

It's being discussed on allthatchat that the cast was told (yesterday) that the show will continue with Elaine & Bernadette after a 2-week break.

I think we can look for an official announcement today.

Tickets are on sale for Bernadette and Elaine Stritch in ALNM, they are beginning July 13 (2010) per the telecharge site. (Per that site: Casting after November 7 is TBD).

Snagged a great seat for "opening night".

This is such good news. I can recall maybe a couple of years ago we all had a little discussion right here on this message board about how Bernadette would be a great Desiree.

I so did not budget a trip to NYC this year, having done a London run in April, but I guess it's time to dig into the mad money. So glad that this rumor turned out to be true!!

YIPEE!!!

I think I may do student rush if it's still in effect.... I wonder how good the "seats" are. What are the chances they will hold the same rush policy?

I rushed ALNM when I was in NY in January. There are no student rush 'seats'. All rushers stand at the back of the theater behind a rail that has numbered positions on it. All in all, not the most comfortable way to see a show, but if you don't have a lot of money and you can get the tickets, it's worth it. They go fast, though, so you have to get there and sit outside extra early and there aren't many to give away.
