"Particular mention must be made of Bernadette Peters, who turns up briefly in a sort of sparkly Glinda the Good costume. She's the reluctant muse sent to help Alice with her writing. The muse is dressed like Oz, sounds like Queens and behaves like a bored student adviser." Alice Film Review, The New York Times, December 25, 1990

Very cute, the only difference from the Streisand dvd is that she doesn't have her dog with her in the dressing room.

That's probably because of the distribution rights. Whoever owns them didn't authorize distribution in the USA. They may eventually allow it, or they may sell the USA rights to another distributor so we can get it here.
No matter how badly those of you in the US want it though, please respect the artists and copyright owners and don't get an illegally obtained copy, it will only hurt the chances of a legitimate one becoming available here, thanks.

Registered: 5/3/2002 | posted: 5/6/2010 at 11:52:53 AM ET Current copyright law in the U.S. is designed to protect corporate interests and not artists. It needs to be completely rewritten. Under current law the concept of public domain has shrunk to almost nothing. Thank God the internet and digital technology have made subverting copyright so easy. I intend to obtain whatever I want, free or not, legal or illegal. If that helps destroy the already crumbling corporate media structure then so much the better.

| posted: 5/6/2010 at 1:39:23 PM ET Ditto what Karen says. I worked in copyright research for fifteen years. The artists are almost the last in line for consideration when it comes to entitlement. They would be very last in line, but that place is reserved for us, the fans.

I'll wait for the legit copy myself, thanks.

Also, what are the special features? I recorded the concert when it aired on TV, but is it worth buying the DVD for the features?

Plus a couple of interviews....not with Bernadette though.
