Bernadette!
I had actually left before she showed up but my friend said that she was at the autograph table around 3:30.
Just thought you'd all like to know.

From: New York, New York | posted: 9/19/2004 at 5:29:17 PM ET I got to meet her for the first time today! She was so nice.
I expected her to be really short. I've heard so many people say she's so short, but she wasn't short at all. Of course, I'm only 5'2" so maybe we're both short!
Did anyone get her autograph? I did and I can't make out what she wrote. It says Annie, love and _________ Bernadette peters. Anyone know what she usually writes?

Registered: 6/11/2002 | posted: 9/19/2004 at 6:20:34 PM ET It's so funny that you mentioned that Annie, because she's written the exact same thing on a few of my programs and posters in the past. I believe, if I'm interpreting her handwriting correctly, that she's writing the word "love" twice. "Love and love, Bernadette Peters." I've stared at that inscription quite a few times and that's the most logical conclusion I came to. Hope this helps.

From: Long Island, New York & Boston, | posted: 9/19/2004 at 7:14:32 PM ET I got 4 theatre related books, a Lord of the Rings poster, and the Sherry CD for only $10! I was going to get some playbills, but it was too crowded to stand there and search through the hundreds of them.
Just curious, what kind of outfit was Bernadette wearing? Did you get your picture taken with her?

Registered: 8/14/2003 | posted: 9/19/2004 at 10:13:24 PM ET Oh you've got to be kidding me...She was actually THERE!?!?!?! Sister Rose and I were there all morning and part of the afternoon until we went to see 42nd Street since there was no one listed at the celebrity table that we were dying to see. We both, however, were commenting for much of the day how much we'd wished she were there this year.
UUUUGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!

From: NYC | posted: 9/19/2004 at 10:56:32 PM ET I was there
I got a Lucy T. Slut necklace, the silver AQ bracelet that said "everything in life is only for now. ~Q" and a few other small things.
I had a good time, but was kinda surprised there wasnt a gypsy table with the leftover props and whatnot... then again, I was there during a lot of the loadout and things were either being given away, kept by cast members or chucked out.

From: NYC | posted: 9/20/2004 at 11:27:37 AM ET By the way, Mandy and I both bought 2004 calendars that had a picture of BP at curtain call on opening night of Gypsy, a copy of Show(something) magazine w/ BP on the cover looking fab w/ Sam Mendes, a tote bag for Broadway Cares that has the logos of all the shows including Gypsy, a 1999 Broadway Cares Christmas album that has BP singing White Christmas (plus Mandy bought four xmas cds!) and then Mandy got the deal of the century - a cassette tape of BP's Dames at Sea! We didn't see too much BP stuff - no Gypsy stuff - but there were some playbills and window cards of her successors in AGYG (whatever!)...we also saw some window cards for Dames at Sea but they were expensive. On silent auction in the morning, there was a large framed poster signed by the whole Gypsy cast, but we didn't hear how much it went for. It was a fun time. However, now I'm still shocked, chagrined, verklempt & depressed that we missed BP at the signing table.

I was there too! I was standing by the photo area and all of a sudden the announcer goes something like here's Bernadette Peters! I literally screamed out! I couldn't believe she was there. My friend and I had made friends with the guy running the photo booth (Eric) so I was standing right in front of him and told him that I needed to get a picture with her cuz I missed her last year, lol. So he was like just hang out right here and I'll get you up first! Another announcer came over and whispered something to him and he leans over to me and goes..."she's coming now, get ready" I almost died, but like promised, he got me up there first...after him of course, lol.
She was absolutely stunning, and I agree, she was taller than I thought she'd be...I was so sure I'd be taller than her, lol, but I guess my 5'1 is shorter than her what, 5'3? Anyhoo, she was wearing a nice brownish pants suit and beautiful brown and blue top. I have pictures I can post as soon as I scan them for anyone interested. I too was wondering what that second word she writes was...love and _____ She's written that on several things of mine, and at first I thought it was joy, but there's not really a "y."
Over all it was an amazing day and Bernadette was the best surprise possible!

Cute pictures I added them to the photo album: Pic #1,
Pic #2 and Pic #3. I thought I read elsewhere on the board that you guys didn't know what she wrote. It looks similar enough to autograph I have that says "Love to you". I dunno
