I'm moving to New York next week to go to NYU. Any ideas on what I should do first? (Besides going to class that is). I wish there was something I could see Bernadette in. Maybe when her new cd finally comes out she'll do a cd signing somewhere.

Get the "The Cheap Bastard's Guide to New York City: A Native New Yorker's Secrets of Living the Good Life--for Free!" by Rob Grader. It's full of great tips. My favorite free things to do are walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, taking the Staten Island past the Statue of Liberty, and just walking around all the neighborhoods. Just explore, explore, explore! HAVE A GREAT TIME AND WELCOME TO THE BIG APPLE!

Annie -You're living my dream right now. I've got one more year of High School before I can get to NY - NYU is def. one of my top choices along with Fordham and Columbia. Good luck! A couple of my friends go to NYU now too.

If you don't already, learn to love Asian cooking. The meals on Mott St. and that area are the best I've ever had and are suprisingly cheap. Wonderful town.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I'm definantly going to the Broadway Flea market that sounds great!

And yeah, I think I'll become best friends with Mary Kate and Ashley too. Thanks for the suggestion! (Just kidding)

I will be attending NYU either inthe Spring or fall of next year. I can't wait!!! I'm stuck in Texas rightnow attending SMU - it's got a GREAT theatre program, but it's not NYU. I have been accepted in NYU and will be moving there as soon as i can get the money:-) YAY! I'm sooooooooo excited!

It's very expensive so make sure you have enough money before you move.

I noted that caveat too. I'm still in debt to my eyeballs just visiting NYC a few times in the last year.
Good luck to you!! When you do have the $$, it's sure to be the experience of a lifetime!!
