do u know what time it starts? cuz apparently there's a softball game at 11:30 i think and i hope to go see that too.
and there's no way for the GYPSY cast and crew to be in it if Broadway Barks is early on in the day, cuz i am pretty sure that most of them go to Broadway Barks.

Registered: 8/14/2003 | posted: 7/4/2004 at 8:30:02 PM ET I think it is from 3:30-6:30 with the celebrities showing off the pets from 5:30-6:30. I will be getting into town around 10:30 that morning and will have to figure out what to do. I just checked the schedule for the softball league and I still think they only play on Thursdays but if I am reading it incorrectly and there is a game, please let me know.
If anyone has gone to Broadway Barks in previous years, could you either PM me or post what a good time might be to get there for a "good spot."
Thanks!

| posted: 7/4/2004 at 8:36:17 PM ET I think the softball games are only on Thursdays. Maybe they gave the week and started it on Sat. so it looked like the game was on Sat. But I know for sure that the next game with Gypsy is 11:30 on July 8th.

Registered: 6/7/2003 | posted: 7/4/2004 at 9:39:56 PM ET I've gone to BB twice. Both times I went to the theater before BB, so I got to Shubert Alley around 4:45 or 5:00. I was probably four or five rows back from the stage, but I did get in directly in front of the stage. There aren't really neat rows, no seats of course, so you can wiggle in and around a bit. Actually, you might want to stand a little to the Booth Theater side of the stage, because you can see the actors coming in and going up to the stage better from that side. (In other words, stand more to the right of the stage as you are facing it, or to the 45th Street side.)

| posted: 7/5/2004 at 1:48:04 AM ET Just so everyone knows, this is not like an autograph getting kind of thing. Yes, there are Broadway people there, and yes of course you can videotape and take photographs; but the stars don't generally hang around and sign things and take pictures with people. They (like a good amount of the people who attend as spectators) go because they care about the animals. Most of the regular people who go are either A. Interested in adopting a pet, or B. go to make a financial contribution.
BUT, there are items you can purchase that have been autographed by Bernadette and other Broadway performers (really nice items by the way); and there is an auction around 5pm, so 4:30/4:45 is probably a good time to get there if you want to partake in the auction.
There is really no bad spot to stand. You can see and hear from anywhere in Shubert Alley. The Broadway Performers and animals are up on a stage, while the reps from the shelters are stationed at different locations in the alley.

I wish I could adopt, since I am looking for a new dog but since I'm coming from a couple thousand miles away... but I am so glad they have the auction and other ways to contribute. Thanks for the info Christine and Jean...can't wait for Sat!!

Q: Any funny incidents or accidents with Kristin (Chenoweth)?
Norbert Leo Butz: I have this Errol Flynn moment where I swing in on this rope. One night in San Francisco, I let go of the rope and the rest of the actors started cracking up. I turned around and the rope had literally tied around Kristin's head and got caught on her crown and was pulling her off stage. It was like watching Barbie get hung.
