Absolutely. And I love his duet suggestions.
and, yes, rapper LL Cool J, who treated veteran Carol Channing with respect during their comical updating of "Hello, Dolly!"
I had an instant of angst when Ms. Channing came out, but their moment together was fun -- and respectful.
And Chenoweth did indeed appear to be happy for Idina. The Tonys speeches always seem more gracious, witty and articulate than the other award shows. And the musical numbers were all a treat; made me want to see them all.
And of course:
Among Tony's class acts of the evening: Bernadette Peters, who looked stunning and managed to be humorous and graceful at the same time.
Who could argue??
