From: Florida | posted: 5/18/2004 at 5:03:39 PM ET Hi all! I am planning on going to New York City at the beginning of July and I realized I have a problem. I only get to see one Broadway show (this will be my first one) and since Gypsy will be over by then I was wondering if I should see Wicked or Wonderful Town. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Andréa

Wicked is defiently more visually appealing and has more modern music while Wonderful town has DONNA MURPHY (yay yay!!) but has more old time musical music, if that makes sense. One other aspect is that Wicked is also very "popular" right now and Kristin is leaving. If you have an opportunity, you should try to see both because they're both different yet glorious!

From Internet Network: 64.12.116.x | posted: 5/28/2004 at 10:37:56 AM ET Well, I just recently went to NYC and got to see five different shows. Gypsy, Wicked, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Blue Man Group, and Hairspray. Out of all of them I would have no doubt in my mind that Wicked was my favorite, even me being such a HUGE Bernadette Peters fan. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the others because they were all very good (especially Gypsy with BP!!!) But I absolutely was captivated by WICKED. The storyline is so cleverly written, and Idina Menzel can sing like there is no tommorrow. That girl has a voice. WICKED starts off kind of slow, but after Menzel comes out to sing "The Wizard and I" the whole play becomes great. I definately recommend WICKED.
