The WICKED cast recording is scheduled for a December 16th release. The cast heads into the studio to record next week. You can preorder the CD by postcard (from the theatre) or you can log onto www.wickedthemusical.com
(They're currently looping some snippets of the music on the main page, and I've gone and listened to it because I love it THAT much and I am THAT sad. LOL!)
I don't personally know if I will preorder, though, because I want to know if there will be a signing. If there is... well, I am SOOOO there.
Also, the cast will be on Late Night with David Letterman November 18th, performing a number from the show (no idea which number they'll be performing -- if it'll be an ensemble piece like "Noone Mourns the Wicked" or a star featured piece like "For Good.")
Finally, the cast of WICKED will be taking part in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. This means 1 of 3 things:
1 - They'll perform on Herald Square (if the entire cast is doing a song I imagine this is what they would do.) Although I don't know what they would do about the staging for Glinda's bubble, (maybe she'd just stand there?) considering the only ensemble song they could do is the opener.
2 - Idina and Kristin will be on a float and will sing a song (likely, portions of "For Good," the final ballad, which is what they sung at MACY'S) OR
3: a pre-recorded performance will be show. This was bizarre, and something I saw on the Playbill website, and I'm not sure what this means, or which shows are doing it, or if this has been done before. Admittedly, I usually sleep through half the parade. So I don't know. But I'll watch this year.
Anyway, just a heads up.
Also, I was told yesterday that the show is sold out through the end of November. I imagine the only seats left (if any) are rear orchestra off to the far right or left. All balcony seats are sold out. I'm so glad this show is doing well.

Q: Any funny incidents or accidents with Kristin (Chenoweth)?
Norbert Leo Butz: I have this Errol Flynn moment where I swing in on this rope. One night in San Francisco, I let go of the rope and the rest of the actors started cracking up. I turned around and the rope had literally tied around Kristin's head and got caught on her crown and was pulling her off stage. It was like watching Barbie get hung.

A half-hour interview with Kristin Chenoweth will appear on the syndicated TV talk show "Christopher Closeup" the week of November 9th. To see if and when the program airs in your area, visit http://www.christophers.org/stationlist.html
(I have never seen this show but now I will have to check my local listings, I suppose.)

From: northern VA | posted: 11/7/2003 at 4:31:50 PM ET About the prerecorded option:
CBS carries the parade as well (used to be only NBC showed the parade). I do think some of the performances were pretaped. CBS showed them throughout the parade, while on NBC they usually appear within the same hour.
My mom always got us up for the parade. I love it. And I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving, and that I'm already seeing Christmas commercials. I don't remember Thanksgiving and Christmas coming so soon after Halloween when I was little.
I just don't know where the year went by-it doesn't seem like 2003 is almost over.
