Has anyone seen this? I'm wondering if I should take time out to travel to Houston to see her (that is,if tickets are still available). The premise of the show is intriguing.

Jenn,

I haven't but am planning to see her when she comes to Boston. I saw her a few years ago and she was AWESOME! What a voice!

I've never seen her perform live, but she does have a great voice. I don't think I would travel far to see her, but I would like to attend one of her concerts if she does one near the NYC area.

I saw this concert of LuPone's not too long ago. I'd seen her a couple of times before but this was the first time she performed the whole evening backed by the Symphony. She sang a variety of songs, told some funny stories and had me laughing out loud during one number, but the problem for me was that after awhile I got tired of the way she sang. I found that she tended to attack the songs in the same manner and even though she would have tears flowing during some songs, I felt she was doing more emoting than really feeling what she was singing.

She still has the volume and power though! Here's a link to the write-up of the concert from Playbill:

Some of the songs were different the night I heard her. If you go, I'd be curious to hear what you think.

Yeah but PTM that's what Patti's all about! Emote, emote, emote! ha, ha :-) It's sort of like watching Mandy perform! :-)

We're going October 25 in Boston. I'm really looking forward to seeing her new show.
