From: Boston, MA | posted: 5/14/2003 at 9:18:25 AM ET I'm going to London at the beginning of June and am planning to immerse myself in as many plays and muscials as I can. Any suggestions? We're staying right in Soho so I'll be conveniently located right near the 1/2 price booth and will be able to do a lot of damage. :-)
I'm also interested in seeing some ballet if I can. Unfortunately, it looks like the only performance available while we're there is Ashton's version of "Romeo and Juliet" which leaves me cold. Any suggestions for alternatives would be most appreciated.

If it's stil playing, I would suggest seeing that just for the history factor. I have no idea what the show is about though

If Caligiglua is still on at the Donmar- do see that. If it's already finished Pacific Overtures is the next donmar show. That will probably be worth seeing; the donmar simply does great work and they handel sondheim very well. Whatever you do, don't make the mistake of wasting a single pound on Tell Me on a Sunday. It's painful and if you're familiar with the bernadette version- this production is absolute torture!

From: Boston, MA | posted: 5/15/2003 at 2:32:10 PM ET Thanks. I'm not sure if I'm up for a gloomy Russian play but seeing "Chicago" again would be fun. Thanks for the heads-up about "Pacific Overtures". I saw it in it's original run on Broadway and really didn't like it but since I totally love Sondheim, perhaps I'll give it another try.
