for work, and just wanted to post. I don't know about you,but I'm very tired, and I went to sleep at 11:15,since it looked like nothing was going to be decided soon. I woke up at 4,switched on CNN,watched, and went back to bed. No matter who's president,I still have a group of preschoolers coming for storytime. I'm betting on crummy weather and election fatigue to make a small audience today. 30 minutes max-I'm not going over.

Well,I had a bigger group for storytime than I expected, since a day care that comes from time to time showed up. We had a great time-they liked the stories (theme was cats) and songs, and made me feel much better. It's wonderful what a group of giggling children can do for your mood. One of the songs was "If You're Happy and You Know It" which they loved.

On the other hand, there was a song that we did that encourages them to express emotions-it's called "I'm So Mad" and I really got into it (which made them laugh)-we have to growl (for mad) boo hoo (for cry) and laugh (for happy). It made me feel good for a while. We've done it twice, and it's always a hit.

The last story we read was about a cat and mouse who tried to scare each other when they first meet, but then play with each other. Their respective families can't understand why they like each other, but then everybody gets together, plays, and everyone's accepting of each other's differences.

Your group sounds more fun than mine. I had to send a kid to the nurse today because she wedged an entire cap eraser up her nose and it wouldn't come out.
