Thank you!

From: northern VA | posted: 3/7/2006 at 5:07:30 PM ET It looks lovely but I'm not sure I would fit in with the town. I get the feeling all the pretty and cute might drive me insane.
But hey-there's the Naval Academy! Hello, sailors! They want you, they want you, they want you as a new recruit!

| posted: 3/7/2006 at 6:30:04 PM ET Bear in mind you are in the greater Baltimore/Washington area. You will by no means need to stay in Annapolis. Towns and cities run into each and there are a ton of them. If you like the Baltimore Washington area (though Annapolis is closer to the Baltimore area), you'll be fine working in Annapolis. It's like saying you couldn't move to New York because you don't like the financial district, of course you could fine lots of things you love in New York that are different than the financial district. All sorts of other places of diverse nature are right around the corner. You'll be all over MD DC and VA.
EDIT: One other important thing to remember. I have no idea how much your salary will be but I would be willing to bet you won't be able to afford to live in Annapolis and may only be there for work anyway. People in that area very rarely live around the corner from work.
When I lived in that area, I lived a good 30-50 miles away from my work.

From: northern VA | posted: 3/7/2006 at 6:39:30 PM ET Oh, I know I couldn't afford Annapolis-lots of waterfront property. I already know I probably won't live near my work, which will be something with which to reconcile, since I prefer living in the same community I serve. I've always done so and this will be the first time-regardless of where I end up-I probably won't do that. It makes a difference. But that's just an adjustment I'll have to make.
