Congrats! We did Cinderella two years ago! It turned out to be a great show. We don't do a musical until the spring, so I don't know what the director has decided...come to think of it, I don't think he's even decided on a fall play!

Yeah, wouldn't it be funny if we all ended up somewhere in NYC? We'll have to start up a college thread come April and May to find out where people are going!

Thanks UFCGuardGirl. This was a wonderful idea! Lots of positive energy flowing through the site now... :-)

Christine, you go girl. Hang in there! Get that degree! It'll change your life! I started as a theater/dance major way back in '76 and ended up graduating as an accounting major in '97! Don't think I'm pining away though. I LOVE my job and my life. Go figure. I love Broadway shows and my husband and I go down a few times a year to do a Broadway binge:

Arrive 11:00am at downtown TKTS booth, buy Friday night, Saturday matinee, and Saturday night tickets.
1:00pm Lunch at 2nd Ave Deli (the BEST chopped liver since my grandma's!) Ha, ha LOL

I love Bob Fosse, Stephen Sondheim, Judy Garland, anything with Gene Kelly, and of course, Bernadette.

Thanks to all of you for sharing a piece of yourself and your dreams. It's all very inspiring.

Hello everyone!

It's been a while..school started on the 27th for me..so I won't be online to post as often or to visit the boards as often as I'd like to. But here goes:

I'm Stacy (as u can already figure out LOL), I'm a high school senior going on to college next year. (I live in MN)I want to be a music major, but my parents don't like it...so my plan is to major in Psychology, and be a music minor..but if the psych thing doesn't work out, I'm hopin' to move on up to the music major. 4 colleges i'm looking @: St. Olaf College, University of St. Thomas, Hamline University, or University of Minnesota- Twin Cities (note: all in MN).

I play piano, I sing (novice)..i'm in choir, I have participated in theatre just a little bit, last year's fall show, The Man Who Came To Dinner, and the spring musical, Les Miserables-Student Edition. (I've gotten small parts, i'm not really good @ acting LOL )

No pets, allergic to cats/dogs. lol

I have a younger bro...

I've become a Sarah Brightman fan over this summer..just listening to one of her songs just threw me into the realm of her older albums...

I love a lot of stuff..so many to list, not enough time, nor does anyone probably want to read it b/c it'll start sounding like those survey forwards that friends send each other in email. LOL.

I'm somewhat busy w/ schoolwork so this concludes my post LOL..

Have a great evening!

Take care,
Stacy

I love Sarah Brightman! You should buy "Harem" - it's her latest album, and it's my favorite out of all of hers...except maybe "Eden", which is a great CD.

LOL, Christine, I was just going to say...

Dorothy: So, what are you painting, Rose?
Rose: The Summer of St. Olaf.
Dorothy: You've been painting a lot lately. What are these?
Rose: Well, this one's the spring of St. Olaf, and this one's the winter of St. Olaf.
Dorothy: And why haven't you painted the fall of St. Olaf?
Rose: Because it hasn't happened yet.

HEE HEE.

But actually, Stacey, when I was applying to grad school last year and was doing my homework on all the different colleges, I read that St Olaf's is actually one of the best underrated schools in the country. So definitely check into it. A good resource is the 375 Best Colleges handbook. Also, check out some of the other college handbooks that focus on lesser known good schools. There are a lot of lesser knowns with terrific programs, and because they don't get so much attention, the tuition is often much lower.

***************
Regis: And look at all this hair. My God. That's a lot of hair. Look at this. How does hair get this way?
Bernadette: Um.. it sort of grew out of my head like this.

Tuberboobles! Sorry, I'm in St. Olaf mode! K UCF girl I just came back from Disney auditions and I think I did really well. It was pretty much just as you said! Thanks for all of your great advice. I think I actually have a part and will be moving down there in January. Did you do the college intern thing? I was just wondering when the spring semester starts exactly. Anyways I met the girl who played Wendy!!!!!!!!!!! I just wondered if it was your friend because she was there for a while. Her name is Michelle Cleavland, is this your Wendy? I couldn't remember your name (sorry) so I couldn't ask her if she knew you. But anyways...wish me luck guys because I have to make the decision to leave school and my best friend for a semester. Love you guys!

Bump it with a trumpet!

Hello everybody! (My name's Rose, what's yours?..lol, I couldn't resist!)Anyways, my name is Lindsay and I'm 21, most people refer to me by my nickname which is "Linnie"(hence the screenname). I'm from a small town in downeast, Maine, where I grew up right on the ocean. Currently, I am living two hours away from my hometown(not far enough) and am attending college. I'm a senior (hooray!) and my major is social work (not so much of a hooray..lol). I've thoroughly enjoyed my college experience here in Maine, but I'm looking to move to NYC to attend grad school. I have visted the city a few times and I absolutely love it!!! I've been thinking about going to law school and have been doing much research on law schools in the city. Any info would be entirely helpful from you fine people! I have much to plan!
My interests include many things. First and foremost, the
fabulous Bernadette Peters! I have a very strong passion for musical theatre, I often drive my roommates a little bonkers with my various collection of cast recordings. Gypsy has been in the CD player for weeks...i can't get enough of it! I also enjoy listening to Josh Groban, he has the most amazing voice. Other interests include running, attempting to dance, and basically just acting silly! I waitress at a restaurant part-time and really enjoy people (for the most part...lol).
This was such a fantastic idea! There are so many wonderful people on this sight. I try to post whenever I can find the time. My life is crazy right now...I'm taking 15 credit hours, doing an internship, and working part time...no wonder I'm such a scatter brain...hehe!

**Oh! I don't know how this ever slipped my mind, but I have a chocolate lab named Chevy and a maine coon cat named Lucky...they are my two best friends!

well hello everyone. i'm nichole and i live in minnesota. i'm 22 and currently on a break from school and who knows how long it will last. i'm an office manager at a local branch of a major jewelry company and love what i do and am frankly addicted to work. i used to perform from the ago of 5 to 19 but then hurt my voice and there went that.

theatre has played a major roll in who i am and what i do. although breakfast at tiffanys is why i do what i do now. gotta love movies

i'm hoping to move closer to the east coast. maybe take a transfer and if my company had a location in nyc i'd be there now.

i spent a week in ny in june, saw several shows and went to the tonys and plan on going back with in the next 6 months.

enough with me it is cool learning about everyone here

LOL Christine & UFC...I hear quite often when people ask me about what colleges I want to go to. My cousins mentioned that, and my mom keeps telling people about it LOL.

But yes UFC, I know that St. Olaf is quite a good school, I think they have an *excellent* music program. And I visited their campus this past summer and it's so beautiful. But yes, thanks for the advice

Take care,
Stacy

You're right - I've heard good things about the music program. If I remember correctly, St. Olaf's choir program does a Christmas concert every year that's broadcast on PBS.

Hi guys, I know I am a little late posting on this subject but.....

My name is Veronica and I am an 18 yr old senior in highschool.

I live with my parents, little sister and grandfater in the suburbs of Philadelphia.

At school, I participate in the theatre program (of course ) and for our fall production we are doing Sunday in the Park with George (I'm playing Dot, I'm so excited )

I also do forensics and I am a volunteer tutor for the YWCA.

On the weekends, I work at a theme park as a merchandising supervisor (Sesame Place) and one day a week I lend my services to Abercrombie and Fitch.

My hobbies include:
Singing, acting, dancing( 8 years), creative writing, reading, hanging out with my friends, among other things.

Other people I love besides BP:
Bette Midler-shes amazing
Susan Lucci
Billy Joel
Julia Roberts

I've been a Bernadette fan since I was little but I just met her for the first time this past year.

Next fall I'm hoping to attend NYU for individualized study in psychology and merchandising (weird combo, I know, I'm still not clear on what I want to do yet exactly lol)If I don't end up at NYU, I'll probably be headed to Fordham.

ANyways, I am glad to get to know a little more about all of you, if anyone would like to IM me, my SN is Futuresoapqueen1@aol.com
~Veronica
