| posted: 8/20/2003 at 4:10:03 PM ET I've heard that she comes back in for a few performances and then has to take a few off. With all her bopping around and stuff, I'm sure it is really hard after stomach surgery. It's long recovery process.

And I have to say, knowing that she is only 17 and that this is her Broadway debut is pretty damn impressive! They're both obviously very talented actresses!

Registered: 3/10/2001 | posted: 8/20/2003 at 6:46:46 PM ET Not necessarily. From what I've heard she auditioned and obviously left a pretty great impression for them to hire her as a Hollywood Blond/June understudy. She actually *just* turned 17 so she actually started in this show when she was 16( which I believe is the cut off age for one needing a child wrangler to be in a show like this). But really no matter how old she is, I was impressed with her performance regardless

I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to see Jenna in the role, but I'm glad Kate is back and able to perform.

Registered: 4/1/2003 | posted: 8/21/2003 at 11:24:15 PM ET I have to agree, Kate Reinders really does an exceptional job as Dainty June. This part is very challenging, because she has to make an impression relatively early on, without the benefit of Act II to allow character development. She really brings great depth and dimension to the role. The feeling and complexity of emotions she brings to the "audition" scene and in IF MOMMA WAS MARRIED are extraordinarily impressive. Glad she is feeling better! A trouper, indeed! And I must add that Kate Buddeke's Mazeppa sounds PHENOMENAL on the CD. What a riotous performance, captured for the ages.
