Now, about anonymous noters... Here's my opinion... Like Kevin said, anonymous noting is for people who have one, maybe two questions and don't want to have to sign up as a full member... Yes, this lets them leave rude notes and we have no clue who it is, but that doesn't matter much to me because if I left a mean/rude note, the only thing you guys would know is that some person under the screen name of "mikee" is a jerk... Even that doesn't matter because for all you people know, I could be a girl, a 10 year old kid, or a 89 year old grandfather... Anyways... I haven't felt that anonymous posting has been THAT big of a problem and I think it is kind of stupid that a rude note by someone who probably doesn't even matter is affecting people... Brush it off! Ignore it! It's not that big of a deal...
Once again, thank you Kevin so much for all you do and I look forward to the future of this board! Have a nice day everyone...

quote: OK, here is my thing with the anonymous posting....anonymous posters are more apt to post negative, rude and hurtful things( not all, but some).
That is a generalization, and an unjust one at that. I am choosing to post anonymously (I am not the same poster as one who has posted ANYTHING on this board) not out of malicious intent. And I guarantee that a person will post maliciously if they want to, regardless of whether or not they can post anonymously.
For you to make such a bold statement is unfair to the one-time posters or the people who post with good intentions.

Just as I'm sure some registered users have in the past too." Generalizion? I think not...Did you happen to catch the "not all, but some" line in which you quoted me in?
This is getting ridiculous. This started out as someone asking ME a question..I don't know how everyone became involved( and yes I know this is a PUBLIC forum). Because this person posted Anonymously I couldn't have sent them a private message or else I would have. If anyone else has anymore comments about any of my statements could you please private message me ...it'd sure save a lot of space and disagreement among those on the board.

I know I'm new and all, but I thought I'd say something.
If it makes you feel any better, I know how you feel. I moderate some forums over in a different fandom, non-actor related -- and with over 1,500 members there, it's impossible to have everyone's approval. I've learned that sometimes, you just have to keep calm, not take it too personally or seriously, sigh, and remember that you can't please everyone. No matter how fair you try to be, or how accomodating, there is always going to be someone (or a few people) who will disagree with the way you run things. Sometimes you can smooth out a situation but sometimes you just can't -- no matter what your logic is or how you put it. Which is why, when I'm confronted with posters I know will never agree with my way of running things, I generally walk away from the argument. Sometimes, that's the only way to keep your sanity intact.
The bottom line is that this is your forum. You created it, you run it. The people who post here are aware of this fact when they sign up, and nobody twists their arm to do it. So, in the end, we are here because we enjoy the topic, the company, and the way you run things. If we don't, we have the option of leaving. So in short, if you decided that the only subject allowable was purple underwear worn as a hat by Bernadette Peters, then by George, we would be restricted to talking about purple underwear worn as a hat by Bernadette Peters. Of course, some of us might leave at that point (LOL) but we are, as always, free to leave at any point.
What I always tell my posters is this; posting on a privately owned board is a privelege, not a right. It is, in a way, like a very benevolent dictarship.
(Just don't make us talk about Bernadette Peters wearing underwear as hats, because I don't think I'd have much to contribute. LOL)
My apologies if I offend anyone. This is just my opinion. As always, your mileage may vary.

"Never be afraid to tell the world who you are." Well you said it all...feel free to post anonymously, but I find it humerous that you would have a quote like that...nothing against anybody tho...it was just something I noticed a wanted to point out!
I chose and my world was shaken, so what? The choice may have been mistaken...the choosing was not, you have to move on......
