It's a mess. An extremely poorly constructed site for such a wonderful woman. I wish they would update it and make it better. I could do it better and I don't know that much about website building. Hey, Kevin, why don't you give some pointers to Bernadette's webmaster.

Well, that was sort of rude.... I'm sure Gay works very hard on the website. It's not like the website is her actual job and the only thing going on in her life. She can really only update when she gets the info from Judy. Gay is actually the webmaster for most of Judy's clients. I agree the website can be cofusing at times but I think the fans should be grateful that an OFFICIAL site even exists.

I'm grateful there is a site but still think it is a poorly constructed site and should be designed better. It's my opinion and obviously the opinion of others. I've dealt with Gay and she is a lovely woman but either her web design skills need to be improved or she just needs to find more hours in the day to put into the site. Which perhaps she just doesn't have. But it is the official site of a high profile entertainment personality and its quality does not reflect that, in my opinion. What if Judy did a lousy job promoting Bernadette? Would you say it was okay because she was a very nice and busy woman? No you would say she needs to improve at her job.

If you do something in the public eye and at such a high profile you have to be open to criticism.

Being a publicist and designing someone's website are two completely different things. There are ways of saying you do not care for something in a nicer way rather than saying you could do a better job then them when if fact they were the one chosen by Judy and by Bernadette to run the site. I even stated that yes, it can be confusing at times but like I stated...running a website can be very very time consuming when you have a family...and a job..and a million other things going on in your life. I'm sure even Kevin could tell us that.

I really do not want to sit here and argue with you about this. I just felt your comments were a little harsh for someone that is actually doing all the fans a FAVOR.

The big difference is that she is running the official site of a high profile celebrity not a fan site. If she is too busy to do a professional job, then I think Bernadette and Judy would be wise to find someone else who does have the time and skill. Sometimes you don't have the time to give the proper amount of attention to something and you need to admit that. Bernadette should be the main concern not hurting the feelings of a web designer. Bernadette's career relies a great deal on her image and Judy should know that which I'm assuming she does. Good professional websites (which is what someone in Bernadette's line of work should have) are easy to navigate, updated frequently and visually imaginative. Once again, something that high profile should be of a high quality and open for criticism. If no one tells them it isn't very good, how will they ever know. If enough people are honest about it, they will change it and give Bernadette a site she and her talents deserve. It's not like I'm insulting your grandmother's cooking here.

No, but you are insulting the work of a person I know and respect(Judy).

Unless you actually run a website for a "high profile celebrity" then I'd imagine you really do not know how easy( well, actually difficult) it is to create and maintain.

I do not think the website in which Gay( and Judy in part) created and maintain and that which Bernadette herself consents to is hurting her image at all. It may be confusing but its not like its going to be the end of her career. Many well known celebrities do not even have a website. It is not like it is reacquired. Since when did a website become a part of an actors resume and defines how "professional" they are. I'm pretty positive that most people who surf the net realize that Bernadette's website is not directly run and maintained by her as is the case with most celebrities and their websites. So, any mistake on her site or any flaw you may find, I would, think would not be directly linked to Bernadette or her image but rather her webmaster. So like, I said I doubt people are reading Bernadette's official site thinking she is unprofessional because of the way her website is set up. I do not know when it became the norm that automatically because someone is famous they HAVE to have a website.....

I really do think the original "anonymous'" poster had a valid question but really, there are nicer ways of pointing things out to people.I never stated it was the greatest website ever run but I will also not go about sayng that I could do a better job when infact I have never been given the opportunity to run an official site for a celebrity so who know's how well it'd turn out.

I don't think that anyone is being rude about it. The website is very obviously lacking. It is very hard to navigate and the organization is just awful. Kevin's website is wonderful. It has a great design and it is very easy to access information. I am sure that Gay and Judy are lovely ladies, but the website needs a great deal of work.

I think Kevin's site is wonderful as well..however it is lacking one MAJOR thing...OFFICIAL confirmation and information that can not be found in most places other than Bernadette's site or another official site connected with her or her projects.Like, I said Bernadette's site does post official information that really can not be found on any fan site so why not atleast be grateful for that?

Moljul...you have made a very valid point, and it was stated very nicely. I don't think you were trying to insult anyone. The original poster presented a question that I have been asking myself for quite sometime concerning the official site. Bwaybaby...I don't know why you think that people are not saying things nicely enough. I think professional men and women appreciate people who are straight-shooters. I am certain that Gay and Judy are professionals and can handle constructive criticism.

Well, then I guess we both have very different views on what CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is then....

There is a big difference between criticism and constructive criticism. Constructive criticism is more when someone says something like "the site could use more pictures" rather than she does a lousy job with it.That would just be plain criticism. Quite frankly, I am finding this to become rather ridiculous so I will stop posting on this thread.

Dear Gay and Judy,
I am a big Bernadette Peters fan. I am so glad that you have provided an official website for her fans. It is a treat and a joy. Her website is a little difficult to navigate, though. Could you provide a section for breaking news? When new information is available the fans might be able to find it a little more easily. On the main site page you could announce the date that the breaking news secion was updated. Thank you again for all of your efforts. They do not go unnoticed!
A BIG BERNADETTE PETERS FAN
