Quite a chat going on over at talkin broadway, all about Bernadette and her illness. The usual hostility and snide remarks towards Bernadette have given way to something resembling sympathy, understanding, or at least a rational and adult discussion.

Certainly lots of opinions and interest, but there do seem to be individuals over there and elsewhere with, what might only be described as, an obessive dislike of her. What's wrong with those people other than having too much time on their hands? I mean if I don't care for a particular performer or show I don't even spend my time reading about them much less waste my time posting.

Some people are claiming she must be giving wildly inconsistent performances. Whatever happened to the fact that people actuallly have varying responses to art? Brantley and Winer were apparently at the same performance and look at their differing opinions, and I know Filichia and Kissel were at the same show and had quiet different reactions too. That's not to say that there's not going to be a difference between a sick Bernadette singing and a healthy Bernadette singing but that's not the same as implying she's only giving 100% for audiences with important people or that her perfomance is all over the map.

That's exactly how I feel! I always have. Some people just like to fight or cause arguments I guess.
