Thought someone could help. I have been trying to watch the webcast replay tonight and can't get it to work. I can hear the awards being presented, but can't see them. I have WMP 9 installed. The interviews work fine, but not the ceremony. Help!

Well you are one step ahead of me. I can't even get them to play at all. I keep getting a message that the server is not responding. I figured either too many people were trying at the same time or they have the URL entered incorrectly. But it seems like theatermania might have something against me. I've tried on both my home and work computers and I get the same message.

What windows version and media player are you using? I just viewed the clips, using my home computer, running Windows XP Home; not sure what Windows Media my computer used, but I have #9 installed. However, the TheaterMania web site says that Windows Media Player 7 is needed.

Why not go to :
www.microsoft.com

and download #7.

Well I have Media Player 9 downloaded because of viewing the awards on Sunday night. Well I guess more for listening to the awards but I won't go into that again. :-) Anyway, I tried to download 7 last night and my computer wouldn't let me because I have "the most up to date version".

I used WMP 6.4 and it worked just fine I never upgraded because I didn't like Microsoft's new draconian digital rights management stuff.

Well unfortunately to view the drama desk awards webcast this past Sunday you had to have the 9.0 version. Something I learned about 20 minutes before the webcast was over so now I'm apparently stuck with it.

Thanks for the link Jean but that was the page I was using before. If you lose your bookmark, there is a link from theatermania's home page. It's a small box on the left hand side with Chita's picture in it.

I don't know, I'm really at a loss of what to try next to make it work. Cleary my theory that the server is too busy is a bad one.

One last thought:
how about downloading Media 9 again, making sure you click on "Open" after the files have been downloaded. My thought is that the files were corrupted somehow, so no harm in re-installing them. (WE CAN DO THIS!)

Jean. You are terrific for sticking with me. I will try it but it seems weird that the media player would download incorrectly on both my work and home computer but here goes ...

Well I was able to "rollback" my computer at work to the original media player and FINALLY saw the video. I just saw Bernadette's intro and her presentation "on knee" to Vanessa Redgrave. Decided not to take the time to watch anything else. Were there any other BP highlights I missed?

Thanks again Jean for your help.

I came home from work today and tried it again and strangely enough it worked. Loved Brian Stokes Mitchell and "Impossible Dream"
