I saw the show last night and a few of my friends who are Tony voters were also there.

Bernadette was fantastic. She was so amazing that the lady next to me went from crying to laughing in the same 60 sec. her performance was breath taking.

My friends who were there are normally not big Bernadette fans and after the show the two of them told me that they hear "Tony" calling her name.

What was more amazing was that although you can tell that Bernadette was still not 100% well, she used it for the character and made the crowd grovel.

Also, last night after the show they came out and sold Broadway barks tea shirts for $20. I was so very lucky because Bernadette was very gracious to sign the tea shirt that i bought. Now that i can't wear it, I am going to hang it up. LOL

Not sure if they are selling the shirts every night but wanted to let everyone know in case you were interested.

Thanks for the great report. It's interesting, I heard from a friend of mine that his friend, who is high up in one of the theatrical organizations and not a fan of Peters' past performances, was absolutely blown away by what she did in the role. Don't know if that person is a Tony voter too.

Sorry, I don't think I realized this post was here until now. Anyways, I'm almost positive they sell the items for Broadway Barks every night ( or atleast every night they can) up until the big event. Right now they're selling the Broadway Barks t-shirt( that Krasm mentioned) which Mary designed, Bernadette's I'LL BE YOUR BABY CD and her SONDHEIM EC CD. I *think* thats it for right now, but I'm sure once things get rollng and gets closer to Broadway Barks they'll tart selling more things.

Oh, yeah...they are selling Gypsy's Memoir( which is virtually out of print) at the show now too.

I highly recommend Gypsy Rose Lee's Memoir. I read it last year and literally staying up all night to finish it. It was fascinating. Also, for you trivia buffs there's an old black and white movie called "The G-String Murders" that was written by Gypsy Rose Lee. It's sort of corny but fun. Some of the chorus girls from "42nd Street" (w/Ruby Keeler) are in it and it stars Barbara Stanwyck.
