DIVA ALERT: Bernadette Peters To Make Radio City Music Hall Debut
11-MAR-2002
It will certainly be a grand night for singing on June 19! Producer-director Richard Jay-Alexander announced this evening that Bernadette Peters, the two-time Tony-winning star of Song & Dance and Annie Get Your Gun, will make her solo Radio City Music Hall concert debut this June 19.
Jay-Alexander announced the concert at the press party celebrating Peters' newest solo CD, "Bernadette Peters Love Rodgers & Hammerstein," which hits stores March 12 on the Angel Records label. The concert will also celebrate the work of Rodgers and Hammerstein, featuring the 13 tracks that comprise the CD as well as several additional R&H tunes.
Peters will be backed by a full orchestra at the famed concert hall, and Jonathan Tunick — who arranged and conducted her new CD — will lead the orchestra that evening. You can expect Peters to wrap her lush, creamy tones around such Rodgers and Hammerstein standards as "Some Enchanted Evening," "Something Wonderful," "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "If I Loved You." Stay tuned for details on purchasing tickets.
