And Bernadette's nephew has a band and he is the lead singer. I've heard him sing and he has quite a nice voice. He also composes and arranges - sometimes even for his Aunt.

For some reason I remember Bernadette saying that she took over the role of Ruby Keeler in DAMES AT SEA from her sister. Her sister used to perform but now she is a casting director. I wouldn't be surprised if her sister sang pretty similair to her considering their speaking voices sound a lot alike.
Her nephew is actually going solo these days and focusing on his career more than "having a band". He does have people travel with him and play bass, guitar and drums tho...just like his aunt does with Marvin, Cubby and Bill. I do believe that he deserves his privacy...meaning that I am nto going to give out *too* much info. because I don't think it'd be right with people just wanting to know about him because of who his aunt is. I think its pretty safe to say he wants to be a succesful artist by his own merits. Although his music is very different than Bernadette's he's awesome in his own right. He obviously has a lot of talent. He has mentioned her in some interviews but its not like he tells everyone he meets that she is his aunt. She actually goes to some of his gigs in the city and I've seen him at her shows too.

Her nephew has a website and I'm sure he would love for people to look him up. Of course there is no way he will become successful if people don't know who he is so I don't think he would want his identity to be kept a secret. But I'm sure he does want to find success because he is talented and not by his relations. You can find his website if you search for Tian DeSeta. Haven't visited it for a while.

The part about "not letting out too much" is hilarious. It's like you're bragging about knowing Peters/DeSeta, but you want to be "a good friend" and not let out too much information. I don't know who you are, but you have to get over yourself.

Bernadette was in that one also, but I wonder if maybe her sister was in it too. I don't know the answer to that because I've never seen a cast list for the earlier version, but that's a possible explanation. Anyone know for sure?

This web site is not for name-calling and I think that this whole notion of privacy does have some validity. I mean, if you were Tian, would you want people just being interested in you because you're Bernadette's nephew? If you want to go to his website and if you like his music thats fine, but people shouldn't go there just to get in touch with bernadette.

You don't think it is an accident that he mentions sometimes she is his aunt. He should be glad for any reason for people to come see him. His talent will determine whether they stay. I don't think anyone was saying they were going to get in touch with Bernadette through him.

Registered: 3/10/2001 | posted: 4/14/2003 at 6:14:17 PM ET Just the fact that your posting "anonymously" leads me not to take you so seriously. I never said I didn't want him getting publicity. I wish him all the success in the world! However, I still don't think its exactly fair to him to have all these people clammering for his attention just because his aunt is Bernadette Peters. I'm assming some of you know who he is and have heard his music...would you have even bothered to listen to him if his aunt wasn't Bernadette Peters? I think its great if someone does end up hearing about him from his aunt and then really, truely ends up being a big fan of his music...but again, not because of who his aunt is. Yes, he has mentioned in a *few* interviews who his aunt is because I'm sure interviewers have brought it up. If you look at his site it mentions Bernadette as one of the celebrities he has composed for however it does NOT say on the site that she is his aunt( If I missed that part than please point it out to me). I've been around this business long enough to know that connections will only get you so far and you'll be MUCH better off and more respected if you show people you can do things on your own and make a name for yourself. If your REALLY think that some of Bernadette's fans wouldn't try to contact him or "get close" to him because of who his aunt is then I think you're only fooling yourself. And please everybody, don't take that the wrong way. I know a lot of you on the board and think you're all wonderful people and probably wouldn't do that, but let's face it...there are those out there who would and I think we all know that....
A little example to clarify my statements....one of my family friends/neighbors was leading your typical pre teen boy's life when about 5 years ago his aunt landed a spot on a hit TV series. His aunt had been in Bway shows and in movies and on TV many times before this but now that she was on a big hit show everyone decided they'd try and be friend's with her nephew. His family is now part of the gossip mill around here because of who his aunt is. Now, I think its great that he has made some new friends and probably moved up on the social scale...but he was a great kid before his aunt became so famous( and he still is) and now all of the sudden people him and his family hardly ever knew are suddenly old friends.....but is it fair that people are using him because of who his aunt is? I don't think so at all....
"Anonymous", I would not call ANYTHING I've ever said on this board bragging. If its come off that way then I apologize...to everyone. However, its a fact that I do provide a LOT of info. for this board....info. you're most likely not going to get anywhere else. I have a pretty good idea of who you are. However, if you really don't know me,like you say then you really have no basis for your claims. And you shouldn't assume my relationship with anyone because really... YOU HAVE NO IDEA. Maybe if you post with a name I'll start to take you more seriously...or not.
