The entire presentation can be viewed at the Museum of Television and Radio. She does a very long tribute with Peter Allen. I was tired just watching it about half way through. You would not believe the number, the costume changes and you can actually see both Peter Allen and BP panting at the end thought Peter Allen pants a lot more. LOL It is amazing. Anyway, anyone who hasn't seen this - go now, to MT&R and watch the 1983 Academy Awards.

And, yes I saw the little clip with Bernadette. I almost cried seeing Peter...so sad!! He was such a talented man!!! And I have to say, I have a new found respect for Adrian Brody!!! Too bad Michael Moore couldn't have been as classy!
I'm very happy Catherine won an Oscar! I absolutely loved CHICAGO! And I thought Steve Martin was very very funny!( well I should say IS because its not over yet LOL)

| posted: 3/24/2003 at 2:04:39 PM ET I thought they could have made the clips a little longer also. Bernadette did a great job that year.
I thought it was so funny becuase they had people like Barbra Streisand and Susan Sarrandon presenting (2 women known for political activism) who were both very classy in their presentations (although Barbra bit her lip like she was holding something back...but whatever), and then that guy comes along, winning one of the less important awards (sorry, but I think it is) and goes off on President Bush and gets bood! LOL Guess they didn't figure on that happening.
One of my favorite parts of the evening was when Kirk and Michael Douglas were presenting together. I also liked the tribute to past winners (Yeah! Joel Grey was there) but I couldn't help noticing how many were missing that could have been there:
Sidney Poitier
Shirley McLaine
Warren Beaty
Annette Benning
Anthony Hopkins
Liza Minnelli
Katherine Heburn
Elizabeth Taylor (She was suppose to be there...I read it...I wonder why she didn't go?)
They should have had 75 people instead of 59 or 60 (whatever it was).

| posted: 3/24/2003 at 2:25:38 PM ET Yes, I thought Kirk Douglas' line to Michael, "Be sure to speak distinctly" was hysterical. You would think they would have 75 people up there instead of the odd number of 59 but then could you imagine how much longer the show would have gone on. Just Kidding.
To know Michael Moore is to know he would probably do something like that. He won for best documentary and his film, Bowling for Columbine, was sensational which is why they gave him a standing ovation when his name was announced but he ruined that good feeling by not making a classy speech. Other winners mentioned the war in much better, must classier, much more subdued manners. It wasn't the time or place for the type of comments by Michael Moore. He acted like he was at a protest rally trying to motivate his fellow protesters.

| posted: 3/24/2003 at 9:27:50 PM ET Michael Moore did that at another awards show recently (I believe the Spirit Awards) and he was applauded. I understand him being passionate about the subject, but it looks so bad to other countries (the Oscars are shown world wide) for people to be telling off our President. It's bad enough that our country cares more about celebrity than anything else! We're just a huge joke to other countries.
I thought of another funny part of the Oscars....when Roman Polansky won for best Director....the looks on the other Directors' faces (especially Martin Scorcessi)!

That was not the time or the place to state opinions and raise that crap... However... I did like Adrian's thing about no matter who your god is, may he bless you or w/e he said exactly... You'd think these people would know how to be professional by now... oy vey!

It was SOOOOOOOOO very long, I ending up poking my own eye just to relieve the bordom. the music started and everything! If i'd been the audience I'd have been like, "no, no! play the music over him - drown him DROWN HIM OUT!!!!"

Hope your eye is feeling better.
