From: London | posted: 2/1/2003 at 5:07:05 AM ET ok, with all this Gypsy stuff going on we haven't had time to have one of those questions that are pointless really but, well, I find them quite fun.
Now, I'm assuming everyone here was born after 1959 when BP started doing showbiz stuff so heres the question. What was BP doing when YOU were born???? Now, when I was born she was either getting ready for the Tonys or filming David

| posted: 2/2/2003 at 10:55:10 AM ET Well, I was born yesterday in 1982, which is the same year that both "Annie" and "Heartbeeps" were released. At the time, Bernadette was not working on any known theater (since Sunday in the Park With George was not until 1984); chances are she was living in California though.
On my birthday (in different years though) these things happened:
>1966 Hollywood gossip columnist Hedda Hopper dies.
>1893 First movie studio built.
>1929 First Hollywood musical debuts.
>1958 Elvis' last recording session before enlisting.

She may have been closer than you thought--she did "Sally and Marsha" at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 1982.

I forgot she did that; and I never really knew the year. Thanks. and thank you Jenny.
It's funny, but it was today, Feb. 2, 1999 that Bernadette had her first Broadway preview in "Annie Get Your Gun." It was my 16th birthday (the day before obviously) and my Father took me to see it as a birthday present. It was the first time I had ever seen Bernadette (in person) performing. I even remember what and where I ate for dinner that night! And I skipped school the next day because I got home very late and was up even later because I was so excited after seeing Bernadette! After the performance that night, my first words were, "She is going to win the Tony for this." And I was right!
Now it's so many years later and I'm excited about a new Bernadette musical! Oh, how time goes so fast.
