From: Victoria, Australia | posted: 6/23/2009 at 11:35:15 AM ET I thought I would share this since no one else has yet; Bernadette is scheduled to co host Regis and Kelly on Wednesday, 24th June. The announcement was made on her new facebook fan page- I would add a link, but I don't know how. If you go to her official website there's a link to it there. I would love to hear about her appearance from anyone who watches it- Regis and Kelly isn't broadcast in Australia. Hopefully it will be on the internet at some point. Anyway, just thought I'd let you all know just in case you hadn't heard- knew you would be disappointed if you missed it!

"Particular mention must be made of Bernadette Peters, who turns up briefly in a sort of sparkly Glinda the Good costume. She's the reluctant muse sent to help Alice with her writing. | posted: 6/24/2009 at 7:52:09 PM ET Regis and Bernadette enter to much applause and a few cat calls (assume those were for Bernadette!)
Regis asks Bernadette what she has been up to and she talks about going to Australia for her concerts. She doesn't say much about the concerts at first because she wants to talk about an animal preserve she went to where she got to feed orphaned kangaroos and then she also says she got to hold a koala and produces one of those souvenir photographs you get at parks of her holding the koala. I have to say those types of photos aren't always the best or most flattering but Bernadette, of course, looks absolutely stunning holding the koala. You could tell she really loved the experience.
Regis did ask her about the shows and she said they went great. And also said it was going to be on Australian TV and that it might be here (guess we can all stop hoping it will be on this Saturday)eventually and also on DVD. Then they talked about Bernadette's upcoming concert in San Francisco. Regis wanted to know if she ever felt overwhelmed by singing with a large symphony but she said it was glorious and even went on to say that when the stage is small she sometimes has to stand back in the symphony and she loves it and likens it to lying underneath Harry Connick, Jr.'s piano (which is claims is a dream of hers). That comment and the way she laid back when she said it got several laughs. I found it funny that Regis thought a performer might be overwhelmed by the sound of a big orchestra and not heard above it. I figured if he's been in the business this long he would have heard a little thing called a microphone and a sound board that makes sure the soloist is heard over the accompaniment.
Then she told the Super Sex joke that she tells in her concerts. Regis and the audience found it very funny.
Then they talked about Regis's sleeping issues. He apparently has been monitored electronically. So they talked about sleep issues and Bernadette said she did have troubles occasionally but she drinks a "calming tea" that helps her go to sleep though she has to get up in the middle night t go to the bathroom because of the tea. That was funny.
Then they talked about Regis playing a 100 year old man in tennis this afternoon. Regis was sure he would beat him but Bernadette said she wasn't sure but she said "I don't know" (as in I don't know if you'll be able to beat him) with this funny weird voice that I must admit didn't quite sound human. Can't describe it here. By the end of the conversation she was still convinced Regis was going to lose.
I think that's about at the 10 minute mark.

I found a video of the first 20 minutes of the episode online- it's the official site for the show, I think. I'll attempt to add a link, but if it doesn't work, just google Regis and Kelly, and I think it's the first site listed.

Registered: 4/30/2008 | posted: 6/29/2009 at 11:17:06 AM ET There wasn't anything too eventful after the host chat. I didn't record it so I'm not sure if I can provide as detailed an account. The first guest was Cameron Diaz, of course she was about a foot taller than Bernadette and had to bend down to hug her hello They did little bit of you're so great , no you're so beautiful and continued to talk about Cameron's early career. It was cute when they came back from commercial C was continuing the conversation from the break and bent forward to say how much she loved The Jerk and loved Bernadette when she was little, it seemed very sincere. Then they talked about C's new movie My Sister's Keeper. Then came out Mark Feuerstein, they talked about his family and new show and Bernadette said she liked it.
True to form Bernadette was very gracious, didn't talk too much, and let the guest have their moment. You really didn't miss too much, the beginning really is the best part. ( I didn't re-watch the whole host chat online - just what I missed. But I assume they showed everything up until the guests came out.)
