There doesn't seem to be any schedule for upcoming concerts in 2009 under the calendar. Is Bernadette not giving many performances this year? Anxiously awaiting.....
To the loveliest lady of song!
You will keep on giving me joy forever...

I've not visited this site for a long while.
I'll be attending Ms. Peters' Clearwater concert tonight.

| posted: 2/9/2009 at 6:23:02 PM ET My wife and I found a female pit bull puppy on the street last week and we brought it home. It is exactly like the way Bernadette describes pit bulls in that interview. She loves our other pets, she wants to be in our laps, loves to nap on you. She's a sweetheart. Hard to believe that someone dumped her off in front of a busy shopping center.

From: Bradenton/Sarasota, FLA | posted: 2/10/2009 at 9:18:48 AM ET I attended Bernadette's Clearwater, Fla., concert last night. I had not seen her in performance since fall 2006 at Strathmore in Maryland. Wonderful as ever.
Ruth Eckerd Hall presented its 2008-09 youth scholarship in the performing arts to a local high school student, who was in the audience. They announced pre-show that Bernadette had agreed to present the scholarship to the girl backstage after the show.
Ruth Eckerd Hall is a terrific music facility, with a great sight line (my first time there). There were many empty seats in the back of the hall; I took that as reflective of the current economy. After the first song, Let Me Entertain You, she said 'what can we talk about? Real estate here is really stagnant, isn't it? I'm trying to sell a vacation home. I wouldn't dream of trying to sell it from the stage.' ...followed by a very funny look-stare.
Later: 'It's nice to be in Clearwater. On the Gulf. My house is on the ocean.'
Later: 'My house has five bedrooms and six bathrooms.' (or was six and five? not sure...)
She told a funny joke she said Eli Wallach had told. Loved the add of the fingersnapping orchestra for 'Fever' -- a song performance still worth the price of a ticket. I wish she'd get that performance on tape.
She sang 18 songs in 1-1/2 hours. One was 'My Funny Valentine' she said since Saturday is Valentines Day. Or is that a regular?? (it should be, if not; a great song for her.) Sorry I did not stay for photos at the stagedoor, but it's an hour drive home.
I am tempted to drive to Lauderdale for the book signing Thursday night, and take my dog, Sam Shubert Alley, who I found and adopted from a shelter after going to Gypsy and Broadway Barks in '03. Always grateful to Bernadette for guiding me on the path to finding Sammy. Like she says in that great Barnes & Noble link above, I too believe in a fate or life path that you have to be open to.

From: Edinburgh, Scotland | posted: 2/10/2009 at 12:44:03 PM ET Well done, leebee! How old do you think she is and what are you going to call her? I have a new addition to the home too, a ten week old Westie puppy, I'd forgotten how exhausting it all is.
