Hello

I know Bernadette studied acting at one point with David Legrant, but does anyone know of any other teachers she has studied with in New York?

Her current voice teacher is Adrienne Angel who has been her teacher since the mid 80s. She mentioned a few of her early teachers during her Inside the Actor's Studio interview. Can't remember their names. Just that she took lessons from a few drinkers.

"Particular mention must be made of Bernadette Peters, who turns up briefly in a sort of sparkly Glinda the Good costume. She's the reluctant muse sent to help Alice with her writing. The muse is dressed like Oz, sounds like Queens and behaves like a bored student adviser." Alice Film Review, The New York Times, December 25, 1990

"I'm one star away from Dolly Parton ... and Raymond Massey is between us. I hope we don't suffocate him." Bernadette Peters receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, April 24, 1987

Ha Ha!
That's hilarious. I haven't yet seen her ITAS interview. I pretty much rely on the kindness of strangers and wait to see what gets uploaded onto youtube. Does anyone remember the names of the teachers she mentions?

That was I'm so dry I'm spittin cotton. In other words he was thirsty and Bernadette said she realized as an adult he was probably saying he needed a drink of the alcoholic nature but she had been too young at the time to know what he was really saying. I know her first voice teacher was a woman (Lola something, maybe) and that she apparently drank too.

The funniest part of that interview was when she almost tapdanced into the plant and when she said her favorite cuss words and Micheal was laughing like he couldn't believe she said it.

Oliver McCool was another name. I don't remember what he taught but she and Lipton commented that he had a great name.

Actor's Studio is, in my humble opinion, pretty much the very best BP interview that has been on television, ever. Highly recommended.

I've been looking for that interview for a really long time. Can't believe it's not on Youtube. You'd think it would be online...

Please let me know if anyone uploads it on youtube or something
