I thought the story line was very compelling and Bernadette gave an amazing performance as a woman whose life, as she knows it, is falling apart. I can see why she was singled out in all the reviews that came out today.

What I meant was that the whole point of the show seemed to be that doctors in general, and women doctors in particular, are retarded children obsessed with soap-opera-like emotional crap that no one out of high school (in real life) would care less about. What a bunch of retards!

I loved it from Bernadette's first line: "I drove the limo on ice, all by myself, 10 blocks" And then when you realized she didn't have a lot of control of her life but always assumed it would all be the same and then one right after another, everything came tumbling down.

Okay, I don't have a tv so I haven't seen the episode yet (I'll watch it from the abc website tomorrow), but Karen have you seen the show before? That's pretty much how it is. It's a one hour primetime drama. They're all kind of the same just different versions of regurgitated scripts where the characters all have sex with each other and there's an occasional brain tumor, car accident or endangered love one to keep up suspense.
I'm sure Bernadette did an amazing job, as always, and I look forward to watching tomorrow.

And, yes, Bernadette was very good (with what she had).

I've only ever watched two episodes of Grey's Anatomy, and that was just because I was curious as I knew BP was going to appear in the new season of the show. casper, you summed the show up perfectly! Just a load of unattractive medics bonking their way through life, I'm surprised they have any energy left to make a diagnosis or even apply a bandage.
But surely it's good to see Bernadette in an acting role? Any acting role?

I had a hard time believing any man could cheat on her. She deserves an Emmy for Best Guest appearance. She was wonderful.

| posted: 9/26/2008 at 12:46:30 PM ET I agree. I realized about an hour into the show that despite being in an accident, she looked very glamourous. I thought it was excellent casting that Bernadette was the wife who was cheated on. With no disrespect to Kathy Baker or Mariette Hartley, Bernadette is the more attractive (i.e. "hotter) woman of the three. If Bernadette had been in Kathy Baker's role it might have looked more like the husband was cheating with the more attractive woman, making the man's infidelity based more in lust and kind of a midlife crisis. With the casting the way it was, you could develop some sympathy for the husband that he just didn't want to disappoint his wife and truly fell into an affair because he needed emotional support.
I've rewatched the episode and Bernadette's scene where she is sitting off by herself with her red wrap and asks Alex why men cheat is just outstanding. She conveys anger, resentment and pain all at once.
