| posted: 7/12/2008 at 9:19:27 PM ET Well it was a fun afternoon. Looked like a little lighter crowd than some past years but still a good and enthusiastic audience. Bernadette did a wonderful job as usual and looked great. And how about Mary Tyler Moore up there with a broken knee? That is dedication. I was really happy that so many who were up on stage took the time to draw attention to the dedication of BP and MTM over these last 10 years. They really are to be congratulated.
Funniest moment for me was the following announcement made by Bernadette:
"If Marty Short's daughter, Katherine, is out there in the alley, you need to go back stage. Your aunt, Andrea Martin is waiting for you"
I have a few pictures that if they turned out well, I'll post some place online.
"Particular mention must be made of Bernadette Peters, who turns up briefly in a sort of sparkly Glinda the Good costume. She's the reluctant muse sent to help Alice with her writing. The muse is dressed like Oz, sounds like Queens and behaves like a bored student adviser." Alice Film Review, The New York Times, December 25, 1990
"I'm one star away from Dolly Parton ... and Raymond Massey is between us. I hope we don't suffocate him." Bernadette Peters receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, April 24, 1987

| posted: 7/13/2008 at 12:54:38 AM ET Glad you had a good time, and I hope your pictures turned out. And Mary had a broken knee? Ouch, what a trooper she is to be there, and without Isotoners too I'll bet!
I'm glad they acknowledged Bernadette and Mary (and I hope all the others too who make Broadway Barks work.) I have a lot of respect for people who give their time to causes like this (not just their name recognition or their money.) All of us only get 24 hours/day to do what we do, so I think it's great when busy famous people (and not so famous people) give up some of their valuable time to help those less fortunate.

Anyone know if that is true or did the writer get her facts scrambled? Also does anyone remember what kind of dog this was in this picture of Mandy's?

And for those who have gone to any of the book signings, how early did you get there and how have the crowds been? I've only been to one signing in my life and that was 12 years ago when Peters was signing copies of her "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight" cd in LA.

| posted: 7/15/2008 at 12:32:35 AM ET I went to her book signing in Los Angeles and the signing was at 7pm (although she read her book and took questions before she started signing books) and everyone had had their books signed by about 8:30pm. I'd say maybe 100 people showed up, not sure how long the lines were since I was inside the store.

Honey Peters
As for the book signing, I didnt even get there till 12:30 (which was the listed start time) and I think I was maybe 15th in line. It ended up starting late and I know the line got considerably longer, though I'm fairly certain everyone who was in line was able to have a book signed.

Poor Honey, I often wonder what sort of person could do something like that. Thank heavens she's a much happier dog now.
What's an "American Staffordshire Terrier"? Is it simply a plain ordinairy Staffordshire Terrier whose ancestors emigrated to the New World in search of fame and fortune? Is it a Staffie with a Green Card?
There's some more cute pics of Honey here.
