'Couldn't agree more. All we have to do is listen to a Billie Holiday album to understand what makes a great singer. It isn't the technique or precision of her voice, it's what she does with it.

"There’s a lot in the world for us to turn our attention to — helping people, helping animals, and helping animals help people." ... Bernadette Peters, August, 2007

Well said! You can't expect someone to sing the same way they did 30 years ago. Besides that, with age, we all grow and learn. I'm 27, and I'm certainly glad I don't sing like I did when I first started out at age 2!!! The voice matures, and deepens. The goal I work towards is to be my personal best in the present, and not compare myself with other people, or how well or poorly I've sung in the past. I love Bernadette's voice just as much now as I did when I first watched her in Annie, when I was 3. She's an amazing person with a phenomenal talent, and I'm very happy she's chosen to continue performing, and not retire early, like some performers do.

"If you're not enough without it, you'll never be enough with it."

"Ready or not, shhhh...here comes Mama"....Bernadette(Rose's Turn)
