But most of these are just little antedotes about her. For information on her life or early career it would be best to consult early magazine articles about her where she would have discussed her early career in more detail because at the time it was in the not so distant past. Her own bio listed on her website or in any program she is listed in is a good overall view of her career. Good Luck.

As wonderful as Bernadette is, you will find yourself coming up with a lot of false information if you get it from websites. Moljul is right, Bernadette has been mentioned in many theater books and certain biographies about other people, but there has never been a book written about or by Bernadette Peters herself. Depending on how tough your teacher is on having dependable resources, you may want to consider other options just in case.

If the writer wants to write a complete account of her life than it will probably be a difficult task but if the writer wants to focus the paper on her career, there are several reliable resources at his or her disposal. After all her career is a matter of public record and let's face it - a wonderful, fascinating and full career making for a great research paper. But any reliable insights into the person would be difficult to confirm. So to the original poster, if you are writing about her career, check out theater history books, old articles and interviews with Bernadette in respectable publication (i.e., not the National Equirer or Hollywood Gossip Magazines), etc. Steer clear of fan sites because they are not based on a lot of fact, mostly what fans have heard. (No offense to any of us here, of course, but I hope you all understand what I am trying to say.) Good Luck on your paper, whatever you decide to do.
