From Internet Network: 68.83.180.x | posted: 12/12/2002 at 9:02:39 AM ET Hello, I just purchased great tickets for one of the preview nights and just noticed that it is the 2nd night of Passover - is Ms. Peters Jewish and, if so, is she not likely to perform that night?
Thanks !

And besides, Bernadette is a profesional. Even if she was Jewish, she wouldn't skip out on previews.

| posted: 12/12/2002 at 4:56:56 PM ET Well if you read various past interviews you'll find that she at least for a large portion of her adult life has not been a practicing Catholic. I remember a funny story about how her father would attempt but seldom succeeded in getting her out of bed on Sunday mornings when she was a child. I've heard her say she is very spiritual but not necessarily religious. Of course what she practices and how she practices may have changed and is entirely her own business but I know lots of people who wear crosses on their neck and are not Catholics.
Though I agree, her religious practices would not interfere with her work commitments. Unfortunately stage actors do not get that luxury.

Especially when they're not here. I didn't vote it down though because I really think that Larry had a legit question more about whether or not she'll be performing for a night he bought tickets for rather than asking what her relgion is just for the sake of asking. And I'm assuming he wants the answer to that so....why not let the religious "debate" rest.

it was only an innocent question. Thanks !

Like I said before chances are she'll be there. But if for some reason she is not most of the time the theater will let you refund your tickets because she is the "star" of the show. People used to do it all the time for Annie Get Your Gun when her or Tom or any other " Annie" or "Frank" were out.

The producer when drawing up the contract, asked "Miss Miller, Do you work on Passover?" and she supposedly replied, "Oh, no, honey, I never do game shows." Probably never happened, but should have.LOL.

From: London | posted: 12/14/2002 at 6:51:53 AM ET by the way...I've not a clue about her religious life, I'm merely saying what I read on the Actors of Italian origin database. It says shes Roman catholic. I'm catholic but I didn't know if you add the Roman in it means you are a practising catholic. I thought it was just the full name for the religion. Besides, i don't want to discuss her religion at all - I couldn't think of anything more boring.

All any of us really know is that she's not Jewish (which answers the original question). How she chooses to practice whatever faith she believes in is personal, and not going to be on any celebrity/religious/Italian origin website.
I'm not trying to cause an argument; I was just curious as to why you would put information down that you're not even sure about?

Maybe she has convereted recently or maybe she is just starting to observe some Jewish practices. I agree the chances of her being Jewish are quite slim though her husband is Jewish so maybe they are less slim than one would think but the fact is that she could be practicing any type of religion or none at all and if we are going to tell people to not assume than that means don't assume anything. The only thing we know for sure is that she was raised in a catholic home because she has publicly stated so.
