| posted: 5/11/2006 at 11:54:59 PM ET Sadly, I've seen worse episodes of this show.
I thought Bernadette was funny for what she had to work with. She's didn't write the script, afterall.
The point was that Ginny IS an overdramatic person/character. It was just meant to be a take on "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane."
I thought the part where she made ANOTHER dramatic entrance then realized no one was there, and then skipped down the steps wanting to order pizza was hysterical.

HAHA Yes! I knew I had seen the routine somewhere else. I thought she was going to fall into the plant behind her.

Registered: 6/26/2003 | posted: 5/12/2006 at 1:14:10 AM ET Well, if Bernadette weren't in it, I wouldn't have watched, but this didn't seem worse than any of the other sitcoms I've occassionally attempted to sit through over the last few years. For me, Everybody Loves Raymond was the last watchable sitcom. Have any of you tried to watch that thing Kelly Ripa is in?
But I will say that I do like the fact that two male actors can kiss in early primetime without any hoopla whatsoever. I remember watching an episode of Thirtysomething where David Marshall Grant and Peter Frechette were simply shown sitting together in bed talking about whether the people at their respective offices knew they were gay or not. One of them said that some of them knew and the rest assumed from the picture on his desk that he was married to . . . Bernadette Peters. After the episode aired ABC said that they wouldn't show that episode again.
Karen -- "fat pregnant ass" really?? What about "looks like a penis only smaller"

I think you are all being way too hard on the poor girl and the poor show. After all, it could be worse. It could be Friends (I hated that show). Anywho, I do agree that the writing was awful and lacked creativity, but did you seriously not fall out of your chair on the "fat pregnant ass" line? Cause I certainly did. My tailbone is still sore. We didn't get to see Adopted, so lets just be happy that we got to see her do something FUN. I thought she was great, and I won't be complaining about it any time soon.

From: NYC | posted: 5/12/2006 at 9:44:16 AM ET I've seen better and I've seen worse. I agree with most of you but I don't think its the worst thing she's ever done. I wish they would have directed her to smile more, but I guess that was the character. I thought the bit about the twister game was pretty funny - I would like to see their outtakes of them trying to get through those lines. I also liked it when Jack put the sugar packet under Bernadette's heel. I haven't watched the show all season so I wasn't aware of the ongoing story lines but didn't pay attention to all that anyway. Anyway, it was fun seeing her on primetime tv. She probably got a nice paycheck and she got to keep the dress and green broach!
