From: northern VA | posted: 10/2/2005 at 1:59:36 PM ET Nicolette, nobody knows what's going to happen now. Bernadette probably doesn't know. There is no timetable for grief, especially when one's husband has not been dead a week. When a great loss happens, ordinary daily tasks, such as preparing a meal (even if it's ordering take out, because you have to make a decision, and making decisions is difficult when you are mourning) are overwhelming. Getting through the day is exhausting. Next year is a long way away. First is getting through the holidays and such, beginning with his birthday this month. When something is announced, you'll know. But wait a while. Be patient.

(Let's just say that either the venue itself will contact you if she cancels/postpones; or it will be announced on her official site; or it will be posted here.)

From: northern VA | posted: 10/3/2005 at 9:19:22 PM ET I hesitate to post, since of course situations can change. However...
I just read a post on Broadway World concerning her upcoming engagements. According to this poster, they are saying that the concert will not be cancelled. The poster called his/her local box office, and this is what was told to him/her.
I do not know which concert this person was asking about.
If this is correct, her next concert is on the 15th. Not 12 days away.
I've written and deleted so much in this post that I will stop here. I'm not in the mood for a big discussion, forgive me. I'm just reporting what I've read. Just so if the days go on and it looks like there are no cancellations, perhaps we could take some time out on that first day to send a prayer or good thoughts her way that day.
But I know everyone here is doing that anyway, regardless. Bless you all.

"Despite the recent death of her husband, Peters is still scheduled to appear, according to the arts center."

| posted: 10/4/2005 at 10:11:02 AM ET I am actually supposed to be attending that first concert on the 15th. 2 of my friends and I have tickets. I had expected it would be canceled.
Perhaps music is her therapy. None of us can really know why she's keeping these concerts scheduled.

From: NYC | posted: 10/4/2005 at 10:28:26 AM ET An actor friend of mine commented about Bernadette returning to the stage that perhaps she needs the work - he quoted Fanny Brice in "Funny Girl" - "Thank God I have to go to the theatre tonight" (loose quote because I can't remember it exactly). Personally I don't know how she'll get through it but perhaps it is therapy for her. Everybody grieves differently. I know whereof I speak.

Personally, I can't imagine, but she's also a trouper, a showman. She may get lots of comfort from performing. It's her business: the show must go on....
