From: Massachusetts | posted: 5/1/2005 at 10:40:15 AM ET I actually saw this version of Forbidden Broadway off-Broadway last summer and I have to admit, it was absolutely hilarious. I adore Bernadette with all my heart but the woman who portrayed her in "Rose's Turn" was so dead on and so funny in person...I love the Forbidden Broadway CDs and I for one can't wait to get this one!
Am I the only one who doesn't think these CDs are too offensive? :-/

Registered: 8/14/2003 | posted: 5/1/2005 at 10:46:18 AM ET I saw FB:SVU too in November and was laughing at the BP skit (along with many others.) I think the Forbidden Broadway songs are for the most part great and I don't find them offensive at all.
My feeling is if someone finds them offensive, then they probably shouldn't have gone to a show that is billed as a show of spoofs.

From: northern VA | posted: 5/1/2005 at 2:10:48 PM ET Absolute favorite: "I Love Patti" closely followed by "Defying Chenoweth."
Throughout the various FBs,the Patti LuPone numbers have been my favorites. The Bernadette ones have been hit or miss, IMO. The current one is much better than the AGYG number.
Of course they're exaggerations, and most people realize that.
Of course,as always: IMO.

From: Boston | posted: 5/1/2005 at 2:14:20 PM ET the "Wickeder" and "Boy from Odd" tracks are especially good. I didn't think the Bernadette Annie Get Your Gun one a few years ago was that good but the one on the new cd hilarious..."merman..mer mer merman"

| posted: 5/1/2005 at 2:34:12 PM ET I just bought the cd the other day. I think for the most part, the Bernadette spoof is really funny. The woman even sounds like her during certain parts (speaking-wise). There are other songs on that cd that are much more intently mean. Her's was rather laughable. lol I don't take Forbidden Broadway too seriously. Ya can't.
The "Wickeder" one had me rolling. And also the one where they make fun of Brooke Shields.

The AGYG was not the best impression I've heard but, oh man, the "mer mer merman" part was too funny. The look on the woman's face when she was performing it in the actual show was priceless! She just stood center stage with her hands at her side, had a blank stare, and just said it over and over again. I could not stop laughing and I think I was embarassing my mother while we were sitting in the theatre
