Registered: 6/26/2003 | posted: 4/8/2005 at 2:44:41 AM ET Ok, here’s the final installment.
Rachel and Tucker are now alone together on the couch. Tucker tells Rachel that he is one her side in the whole Middle East thing and she sarcastically says something about that really changing her opinion of him.
In the kitchen, Sarah is wiping her wine glass and putting it away while Judy tells her that she doesn’t have to do that. Sarah says that she thinks that she’s figured out where most everything goes except these [picking up a couple of baskets]. She doesn’t know if they are for bread or babies. First take Wheatley doesn’t say anything here, other times he says, “fruit.” Judy tells Sarah that she is being a bitch and Sarah yells back that she’s right because Judy is “trying to take my son away from me.” [Does that line sound like something from some recent musical Bernadette was in?] Judy then says something about the number of nights she’s stayed awake worrying that some crazy person adopted her baby and that Sarah was not making her feel any better. Sarah then says, “That’s it. We’re going home where the plates match.”
As Sarah tries to exit the kitchen, Lloyd tells both of them to stop and that they don’t get to end this. He tells Sarah that he has lots of questions and that he needs to spend time with Judy – alone. Judy says that that sounds perfectly reasonable to her, to which Sarah responds that it would be reasonable if she was a reasonable person but she was a crazy person. I think Lloyd says something here that leads to Sarah looking askance at Judy and saying, “he must get that sarcasm from YOU.” Judy tells Sarah that it would be ok if Sarah were to be part of this discovery process if she could just try to be . . . not so much like she is. Sarah then looks at Judy and in a sweet voice says that she is “so happy Lloyd did not get your ears.” Lloyd then says something about them being able to make this work or at least make it not so hellish and awkward. As the three of them enter the living room, they are treated to the sight of Tucker and Sarah kissing wildly on the couch to which Lloyd says something like, “Oh look my brother is making out with my sister.”
We then watch another pre-recorded bit on the monitor between Tucker and Rachel. Rachel tells Tucker that she was just doing that to get attention, so Tucker says that’s what he was doing too. As she closes the door, she says with a devilish grin, “This is going to be so much fun.”
The five actors then come out to run a scene in front of the audience to see how it plays. It’s a phone / call waiting conversation. The actors sit in swiveling computer chairs and turn to face the audience to indicate when they are on the phone. Sarah calls Lloyd who then puts her on hold when he gets a call from Judy. At some point Tucker picks up the other phone in Lloyd’s house and Rachel picks up the phone in the Rabinowitz house. While the four of them can all hear each other, Tucker asks Rachel out which causes Judy to start arguing with Rachel. In the meantime, Sarah calls back. Lloyd says, Mom did you hang up and call again? Sarah is upset about being put on hold and asks if that is Judy on the other line. Lloyd says yes . . no which causes Sarah to angrily hang up. When Lloyd gets back on the line with Judy, she tells him that she doesn’t have time to talk to him now and hangs up. Scene ends with Lloyd staring sadly at his hand set and saying, “but you called me.”
The actors then go off and come back to take their bows.
THE END

Thank you so much for your posts. I feel like I was actually there.
But here is my tough question for you. What is your opinion on the show? Did you think it was good, well written, well cast, has a chance in HE## to get picked up? I would love to hear your opinion since you seemed to be the only person here who can give an educated guess.
Thanks again for posting.

Registered: 6/26/2003 | posted: 4/11/2005 at 2:49:44 AM ET Me give an opinion, impression?? You know I try to keep my posts free of those, but let’s see. If I had any say, I’d give it a shot, but I’m not a good judge -- I thought Nathan Lane’s second sitcom had potential. I’ve also been trying to watch some of the sitcoms currently running and can’t figure out why most of them are still on except maybe that the networks have to have something to air between commercials
For me I think it’s a plus that it isn’t another one of those sitcoms with the husband, wife and kids, and of course I agreed with the casting seeing as how they had the good sense to hire not one but two two-time Tony winners, although I believe I read somewhere that this was Baranski’s third pilot already. But I thought that the other actors fit their roles well too and was glad that there wasn’t one of those obnoxious David Spade types in it.
I wouldn’t say that it was hilarious, but there were a good number of laughs and chuckles and depending on how it’s edited, there could be more. I think the audience sort of pooped out at the end, did I mention that the taping went until 10, but were entertained for the most part. Would I watch if Bernadette weren’t in it? Well probably at least the first couple because I also like Baranski and I did try watching that last sitcom she did with John Laroquette.
So I certainly hope it gets picked up, especially if that's what Bernadette wants. At the very least, I hope they air the pilot so you all can watch it and not just read some rambling description of it. And considering how atrocious most of the sitcoms seem to be, I think there should be lots of room on all of the networks schedules this fall.

From: New York, New York | posted: 4/24/2005 at 4:04:46 PM ET I just read all of the posts about Bernadette's new show. I am currently in the middle of a horrible adoption mess so a sitcom about adoption really didn't appeal to me at all.
Although after reading it it looks like it could be a really funny show and how great would it be to be able to see Bernadette on tv all the time.
Thanks PTM for telling us about the taping. Great description.

Hopefully the show will be picked up and others will have a chance to attend a taping. Going to one of these sure gives you an appreciation of the amount of effort it takes to put a show together.
