Registered: 8/14/2003 | posted: 10/22/2004 at 6:54:37 PM ET The reviews don't seem good at all. I'm actually seeing it tomorrow at 2:00 and then high-tailing it to catch the 4:00 Forbidden Broadway: SVU show.
I'm interested in seeing Brooklyn but am worried by all of the reviews I've read.

Registered: 11/6/2003 | posted: 10/23/2004 at 7:37:54 AM ET Just read the reviews in the NYT, Wall Street Journal & the Washington Post -- all pretty bad. At least two of the reviews note that it's good there is no intermission so people can't get up as easily and leave. Even the WSJ's Zagat Theatre Survey yesterday only 75% (while high, not out of the ballpark)of survey respondents recommended it.

Registered: 6/7/2003 | posted: 10/23/2004 at 8:30:56 AM ET Is it my imagination--or the lighting--but does her hair (**) have more of a lovely reddish tint than we've seen previously? And does she seem to look more radiant and rested than ever? I think this mini-vacation seems to be agreeing with her.
(** Yes folks, one more frivolous comment about HAIR)
(And gathers/shirring seems to be in for the Fall--remember that when you chose your outfit for the Actors Fund Gala--ruffles for the gentleman's shirt.)

From: Bradenton/Sarasota, FLA | posted: 10/23/2004 at 11:21:38 AM ET OK, since others broke in here with such comments...(I looked at these pix yesterday and felt the urge to comment, but refrained).
I too noticed the reddish tint, which I'd love my hair dresser to copy (have to lug my computer to the salon, I guess). I too noticed the outfit (is it pants or long skirt? I can't tell on the thumbnail photos), and adore the top.
But really wanted to say (again) what an absolutely stunning woman (hair, figure, skin, etc.) who is 56 years old!?! There just has to be a Doria Gray painting of her in her apartment wrinkling away.
Somehow, someway, got to get to a spring concert.

She is a GODDESS.
I've been rerunning over and over the post-9/11 "NY, NY," commercial from night 3 of the PBS "Broadway." She is just so wonderful in those few seconds (similar gathered top, in lovely peach). Best smile (hair, skin, etc.) to make all the horror go away for a little while. Anyone know where I could find the entire ad? Downloadable somewhere?
Still can't tell, but I'll take your word that it's pants.

Registered: 8/14/2003 | posted: 10/23/2004 at 10:17:17 PM ET I also wish I had a copy of that entire NY, NY commercial.
OK, quick rundown of Brooklyn from today. I thought the singers were good....Ramona especially. The costumes were very interesting and it was neat the way the cast was in charge of all of the scenery. I enjoyed the show but it isn't one I would run out to see again.
I had a headache afterward though...think I was sitting too close or something (5th row.) The show was really short...so I had time to run to Forbidden Broadway at 4:00 (and I mean run!) As I left the theatre I almost plowed into Donna Murphy who was talking to someone right outside of the door I exited. Had I not been in such a hurry I may have stopped to say hello or something.

Registered: 4/28/2003 | posted: 10/24/2004 at 9:47:51 AM ET Hi! I'm an occasional poster and daily lurker. (I've met her, driven hours to see her and have pix with her, so I am a dyed-in-the-wool lifetime fan.) When photo sites are posted, I wonder if you guys know that you can save them to your hard drive, insert them into MS Word and print them, or just blow them up really big if you want to see details in the pix. I've checked if this is illegal and am told not, unless copying the photos has been blocked by the site. I have a gazillion Bernadette pix, I use them as rotating screen savers, wallpaper and all over my office walls. Let me know if you don't know how to do it.
