Thanks--it's fun to see what she does with her leisure time. Florence? Isn't that where she spent part of her honeymoon?

That city gets my vote as one of my favorites, not only for the fabulous art/museums, but its just a beautiful place, great food, and a very easy and comfortable city to be in.

Well, based on her outfits the last few times we've seen pictures of, I guess she can pick out her own dress/shoes/jewelry for the Actors Fund event. I think she is stunning in this dress.

Let's go - my bags are packed and my passport is in my pocked. I'll meet you all at JFK this afternoon.

She should definitely wear her hair like that more often. It's reminiscent of her Annie Get Your Gun days...

Agreeing with Jean, she looks absolutely stunning... how she keeps a figure like that in her mid 50's (or at any age for that matter) is beyond me!

I have to say I don't like the green dress at all. The first thing I thought was...back to the '80s?

Well, a) I loved the green dress and b) I am leaving for Florence for two weeks on Monday, 10/18. I agree with Jean...Florence is a beautiful, wonderful city. And so close to such other great places in Tuscany such as San Giminango, Siena, Luca and Pisa. But, I don't think it's the beautiful city in Europe, as was said somewhere else. I still bestow that honor on Paris. Just my humble opinion.

I'll be brave and not post anonymously. The dress wasn't my favorite. I loved her hair and the color of the dress, but not the style. I think if it was not "gathered" or whatever that is called, I would have liked it better.

I believe the chances of all of us liking every outfit we see her in are slim to none...though it is fun to catch a glipmse of her on the red carpet.

Note to self: Must get to Italy!

I liked the color (looks more turquoise than green to me), but not the dress style much.

I had dreamed of going to Florence for my birthday this summer (a big birthday), but money and circumstance kept me from there (I jumped out of a plane instead). Florence/Tuscany and Rome are at the top of my short list of gotta-see places.

They are beautiful. Rome is a bit chaotic but fun.

The plan currently is to go for my 30th birthday...which gives me a little more than a year to:
a) hit the lottery
b) get a second job to pay for the trip!

Either way, I will get there somehow!

You know, when a celebrity dresses for these public occasions I think of it like putting on a costume, and some costumes you like, some you don't. I think the color is stunning on her, and I just like the rather elaborate gathers. She wears the costume, it doesn't wear her.

(Italy was one of my favorite places to visit, so we're returning next Spring, although not to the same areas. When people ask for my recommendations on where to travel, I always include Italy.)

YOU JUMPED OUT OF A PLANE? I AM COMPLETELY IN AWE.

NOT winning the lotto as planned was one of the circumstances that kept me from Florence this summer.

Yes, I jumped from an airplane (and screamed through most of the freefall). It's called tandem skydiving, where you are hooked onto the chest of an experienced diver, and it only takes a hour or so of training. I was supposed to jump on my birthday, but it rained that day, so I rescheduled and did it Sept. 5, which was a beautiful day. I have photos and video to prove it too. And I wore my black "Gypsy" t-shirt with black jeans for the jump.
(Maybe should have been "Wicked" -- "Defying Gravity"!!)

[My apologies to the sticklers as this is well off-topic for this chat area. ]

I think the color of the dress was beautiful...but the style wasn't really my taste. But she still looked stunning. I think Bernadette is one of those people who can cut head and arm holes in a plastic bag and still look gorgeous!!!
