I *know* this is a touchy subject. Let's attempt to solve this problem as a mature bunch of people and come up with a definitive list of what is and isn't out of bounds. I will include this list on the upcoming FAQ list. For the sake of my sanity I will be converting all posts to "Anonymous" after they are posted so no hard feelings might be had. This is just for this thread only, since this is a "hot topic" right now.

Thanks, Kevin, for a level-headed response. I had written about 5 paragraphs on this subject and then deleted it all. I just realized that you are so right-this is supposed to be fun, and a mature exchange of ideas-not some silly high school name calling silliness (apologies to those of you who are in high school).

In any event, I'm tired-and bored-with the stuff that's been going on, so I shall happily retire.

I guess a good general rule of thumb is that anything that Bernadette discussing in public - during an interview, on tv or whatever - is okay to discuss. Since she is a public figure, I feel anything she makes public is fair game. She definitely seems like someone who wants her privacy and I've noticed she doesn't go into great detail about her private life which to me, means she doesn't want it discussed. But what she say, she is obviously comfortable with having the general public know, so we should be able to talk about it. And any discussions about her talent or performances are fair game as well. Her art is a subjective one that calls for being critiqued.

I agree that no one should say something negative about another poster. You can disagree with the poster and state so but saying something about a poster like they are bossy or rude would not be allowed.

I think its a wonderful idea to have some rules and guidlines on the board Kevin.I do think they'll have to be rather specific to work though. For example if a rule was " not to discuss any of Bernadette's romantic reltionships" And then we got a new poster to the board who wanted to know if she was married that would be breaking a rule... but I don't think anyone here would consider that to be an inappropriate question to ask as a new poster. So I think specific guidelines and basic good judgement by all posters should be applied. And essentially have to come down to your descretion of what is acceptable to discuss and what is not.
